SSM 50169 - 2021 Bronco - Equipped With Front Parking Aid Sensors And A Ford Performance And/Or Aftermarket Winch - Front Parking Aid Sensor Warning

Some 2021 Bronco vehicles equipped with front parking aid sensors and a Ford Performance and/or aftermarket winch may inhibit the front parking aid sensor warning system and cause it to activate.

As a resolution, the front sensors must be turned off by performing the following from the touchscreen; 1. Press Features on the touchscreen. 2. Press Driver Assistance > Park Aid Sensors > Front On, Rear On. 3. Front Sensors (Always) Off > Park Aid Sensors > Front Sensors (Always).

Note: trying to adjust the location of the sensor will not resolve this concern. If the front sensors do not stay off after each key cycle monitor OASIS for additional information and schedule a service appointment with the customer once the repair becomes available.

Thanks. I was wondering how this was ever going to work.

Again, goes back to my initial hunch that Ford overlooked these kind of things and had been only testing their winch mount on lower trim levels and not those with parking sensors, ACC or front camera.

they make it work in their super duty trucks with hidden winches, sensors & AC but they felt the need to build the slimmest bumper they could on the bronco. so far, my impression of the so called modular bumper will be useless in my case on a BL w/ lux. Im not disabling the front sensors for my wife to drive around town or having to reinstal the winch & plate each time we want to hit the trails.

Questions I have though:
1. Have they clarified if it'll work with the HD modular bumper?
2. How bad is the approach angle affected?
3. Will a warn winch bolt up in there?
4. What warn winches can be submerged under water?
5. How bad will that be to clean out after burying your front end into mud?

Disregard, forgot it doesn't work with the 2.7 bronco.

This may also work with backup cameras if you have a bike rack, I'll test later. My current rack blocks the camera and sends the sensors into a frenzy, so I'll try disabling them selectively and see if it works. Disabling them all via the button in the console works, so I assume that would as well. It is nice Ford lets you disable them selectively, my other cars were all or nothing.

As for mod bumpers, I've pretty much written mine off at this point and accepted it is coming off, it is just a matter of who gets a bumper that works with ACC and is available first.

In the back it's no different than turning off the sensors when you are towing. The front is a major oversight though.

Hopefully the "Capable" bumper will be better. Personally, I've never used a winch on the beach.

I'm sure Ford will solve all these problems with the 2025 facelift....

The capable bumper doesn't seem very capable. Not modular, no mounting points, and you can't add the Ford winch mount*. But hey, fog lights.

*according to BN

I more think of a bumper as something you can "bump" with, that can handle some scraping and tapping and scraping, maybe a few hooks for pulling or being pulled. For that i like the Capable, but the stock is on my OBX since thats all i need. For now.

Yeah, any of the three bumpers will work for that

Thanks. I was wondering how this was ever going to work.

I think this is the Ford Performance Winch Package, which I kinda thought was a bit butt-ugly - side shots like this are a bit rare, so this changes my mind a bit (I am getting a Base so no parking or ACC worries). My understanding is this requires the modular bumper and accommodates the factory skid plate with no modifications, the price (which includes a 10,000 # winch, which one is not clear, it is shown as "Unique WARN® 10,000 lb. Winch") is $3,500 not really that bad when you price up other options. This looks like you might be able to put it on and take it off seasonally? So far my list of folks who may have a near to real design are: the Ford Performance (designed with WARN, above), Warn (Elite bumper), Rough Country (really a skid plate mounted winch), Addictive Desert Designs and Road Armor. DV8 has shown a few designs ... below is the ADD design.

Ford Bronco SSM 50169 - how to disable front sensors via touchscreen for 2021 Broncos with front parking aid sensors & winch 1633396948710

The bumper only (winch extra) is $2400, but you have to trim "3 - 4 inches off each side" of the OEM plate or buy their (aluminum) one for $700 so about $3100 so far. I am getting a Basquatch with standard bumper and no skid plate so I save $825, making the $3,100 not so bad (except for the winch). They do have a bracket to relocate the ACC. Does anyone have any opinion on ADD rep/quality?
