I was wondering if you could help me find out any more informationā€¦ if you canā€™t, totally ok! But Iā€™m just wondering whatā€™s really going on with my bronco. I thought I would ask.

My dealer says mine is built but there are no space on the rail cars so it has to wait to be shipped until all the hardtops are out. Is this true? I never got a shipped or built email from ford. Been ā€œin productionā€ since 10/4, blend was 10/8. Other people at the dealerships around me are getting their soft top broncos with production dates after mine. So I think something is up. It should of shipped by now.

I'm in the EXACT same boat as you. So I though I'd try Ford customer service direct. This is the answer I got on my build (VIN issued, blend date, window sticker, "in production" with modules populated mind you LOL

Ford Customer Service said:
I appreciate your patience, John. I do show that the status of your 2021 Bronco is In Production. Many 2021 orders were not able to be produced and are now scheduled for 2022 production ....

Is posting my VIN safe?

That is for you to decide. It's not hard to get the VIN number for any particular vehicle. Your VIN number is publicly displayed everywhere you go on your vehicle... anytime you park, your VIN number is exposed to anyone who wants it. Hell, given the advancements in Satellite technology, I would be surprised if the damn things can't be read from orbit at this point.

Now, this is not supposed to be the primary way to get your rail car, this is a last resort when your dealer won't help you out. I even provide a number of links up front for people to do their own digging in the first post.

Now regarding VIN numbers:

ALL 2021 Bronco VINs start with either 1FMDE5 or 1FMEE5 (2 doors are always 1FMDE5)
So that takes care the first 6 locations
The 7th location is A, B, C, D, E, or F.
The 8th location is P or H.
The 9th location is 0 - 9 or X.
The 10th-12th locations are MLA or MLB
The last 5 locations are 00000-99999 (with large blocks of numbers excluded)
All two door FE's start with 2XXXX (and near as I can tell less than 1000 were built, so really 20XXX)
All four door FE's start with 4XXXX with 43250 near the highest I have seen.
Almost all production Bronco numbers start with MLA6XXXX-MLA9XXXX or MLB0XXXX.

So really, figuring out a VIN, not that hard. You are at best hiding 5 digits as a unique identifier, potentially a lot less, especially if I know your blend date.

Also, if I have your VIN, I can likely get your order number without much hassle either... These things are just publicly available and are not secret (although I know that people would prefer them to be - they just aren't).
Dealer told me they could not access this information.

What? I canā€™t believe that was their response! What a mess. Does anyone really know what is going on with some of these builds?? I guess itā€™s just a wait and see what happens game now.
I thought if you had a vin it was a guaranteed 2021 build?

Was put on a train in Pine Bluff, AR this morning. Will depart this afternoon. Headed to Spring, TX where it will be put on a train headed to Kirby (San Antonio, TX). No delays it should be in Kirby on Wednesday.

Itā€™s headed in the right direction now. Remember railroads operate in a hub and spoke model like airlines. Sometimes the fastest way is not the most direct based on train schedule.

No problem. I am a little confused as to why they are taking it to Chicago. They should be able to send it direct from Cincinnati to St Louis. It goes through the interchange yard in STL and is switched there so I see little reason to send it all the way to Chicago for interchange purposes. Going to Chicago adds 4 days to transit times.

Itā€™s a CSX decision so there isnā€™t anything I can find out about why itā€™s routed that way.

You've got a couple stop-ship orders on that. Produced as of 10/22, but still waiting for a couple quality checks to finish up.

Some commodities are time sensitive.... get priority over autos....autos are not the only thing on the train
