Cool news related to the MI Bronco Club. We have the website up and running. The functionality is pretty basic, but @JakeC and @yeet did a great job with ideas, editing and content. I will post this in the larger B6G forum, MI Roll Call, Bronco Nation and the email group. Yeet tells me it’s already been posted on Facebook. We couldn’t easily port the member list to the website, so please register there as a member. We will eventually use the website roster for all communications. Looking forward to building a great spot for MI Bronco owners to enjoy thier Broncos!!!! https://michiganbroncos.club/site

Had some fun at Holly Oaks as well. I’m new to off-roading so I took it easy but had a blast. Really loved seeing all your Broncos...Can’t wait to go back!

A small bit of irony, just one day after we get our letter from Ford basically telling me that I'm getting a 2023, the picture of my order finally updates to my 2021 order ;-). At least I can look at a two-door Black Diamond now instead of the four-door Big Bend I originally reserved.

Spring Break Trail Ride?

I usually go to AZ for Spring Break, but an earlier trip to golf and extremely expensive airfare has me thinking I will work, work on the cabin and maybe do a little off-road exploring. I am looking at March 26 to April 2nd.

My plan is to either start from Oscoda and run the ORV route, then map back roads to St. Helens and explore there, capturing some pictures and route info for the club website or-

Options could include:
- Starting West (Denton ORV Route) then heading to St. Helens, doing the same recon and mapping for the club site.
- Starting at St. Helens and exploring back to the West (Denton) or East (Oscoda).
- Just meeting playing at St. Helens Scramble area.

Anyone off that week and looking to enjoy some early spring wheeling? Fun to do some group rides in "other" areas of the state!

Everyone is welcome to come join me on the East side during that week too. Wife and I will be doing some painting and potentially remodeling work on the cabin, but there is always time for a Bronco ride.

I can do either weekend and any of the three locations. I was up in Petoskey this weekend and anything South of Grayling and or East of Higgins/Houghton looks to be currently accessible for our Broncos (other than the closed ORV routes if they are snow covered and groomed though March 1st). We should be good to go in any of those areas by end of March. I am open to feedback on either weekend. I may even be able to put up a couple of people at our place, depending on who from my family is at the cabin and when. We add another little guest cabin once it warms up, not sure if it will be past freezing risk there, by spring break.

I am not off that week but I work from home. I have kids in daycare so I am free between 9-5 all week. Mon/Wed are the best days for me. I am in GR so would meet up wherever within 2 hours.

Had some fun snow wheeling today.

Looks awesome! Love going to that area, we usually jump on trail from West Branch and head over towards Oscoda. Where did you all make it to?

We just played around on the trails between Oscoda and Glennie yesterday. The major route we usually take is a groomed snowmobile trail so we just explored some of the seasonal roads that parallel trail “96”. I am going to try and set up a route for a club ride Oscoda to St. Helens. I think we can do about 80% trail and dirt roads?

I talked to Matt Stanford at Varsity the other day about the possibility of painting the MIC top white. He said that his body group has done a couple of them and the cost was around $1,100. I also talked to my local Line-X dealer in Brighton and they told me the only thing they could do was black. I know that a dealer in Florida did it in white so I may still look around a bit.

Here is a picture of what Varsity sent me. Photos courtesy of Varsity Ford Ann Arbor.

Looks very cool! I am curious as to what flex additives and or adhesion promoters they will use on the MIC tops. Cost could be several issues? #1 being labor and rates. Shops are having a hard time filling positions last I heard and the labor market is tighter here than FL. The hourly rate is probably double in MI. Raw materials are just stupid right now. I would hate to quote anything these days. If the customer waits to pull the trigger until your next order of whatever materials, the cost could be 10, 20, 30% higher.

The white looks really sharp!! Have you thought about a wrap? Could be a good way to get what you want! Budget bronco on you YouTube has a diy video and the wrap was under $200 looked good!

Website update. @JakeC @yeet and I have been putting together the website. I wanted to give everyone a preview of one of the ride pages. More to come, but I think it's going to be pretty cool. Now back to my day job......

Our plan is to have people post the trails, pictures and comments so other members can know where to go and what to expect when they get there. Make sure you snap a couple of pics and save the info to add to the website!

It’s coming along really well. We are looking to add a “member build” section to see a bit of our fellow Bronco owners a place to show off their vehicles. JakeC is rocking it! Still a bit of work to do on a few sections. If people just didn’t have day jobs it would be so much easier 🥲

Any front window tint people out there? I remember growing up (a long time ago) Michigan police were super strict on front tinting the windows. Wondering if you all are, or if they eased up on that (law)?

One of my co-workers just had his front windows done to match the rest of his vehicle, without a prescription, so I imagine it's eased up. That being said, I imagine it might be completely dependent on the officer that pulls you over... if they're an asshole, or just having a bad day (or based on your reaction to getting pulled over), they could easily tack it on to whatever offense they initially pulled you over for. Not sure if they'd pull you over just for that by itself though. YMMV.

From the Michigan State Police Traffic Laws FAQ page (https://www.michigan.gov/msp/0,4643,7-123-1586_27094-73839--,00.html#tinted):
TINTED WINDOWS

Question: Can I have tinted windows on my vehicle?

Answer: The law that covers window applications is . The use of tinting is limited to the rear side windows, the rear window if the vehicle has outside mirrors on both sides, and the top 4 inches of the front side windows. There is a limited exception for medical necessity with a doctor's prescription, which allows for tinting to be applied to the front side windows as well. Michigan does not have a specification for the darkness of the window application, but does prohibit applications with a solar reflectivity greater than 35%.

Question: If I have a signed letter by my doctor indicating a medical necessity for tinted windows can another person drive my vehicle if the windows are tinted?

Answer: Yes, provided the special window treatment or application has been determined by a physician or optometrist to be necessary for the protection of a person who is light sensitive or photosensitive, and the owner or operator of a motor vehicle is in possession of a letter signed by a physician or optometrist indicating that the special window treatment or application is a medical necessity as required by MCL 257.709(3)(e). However, the special window treatment or application shall not interfere with or obstruct the driver's clear vision of the highway or an intersecting highway.

Buddy of mine over at Horizon Global (Reese, Draw-Tite, Bulldog etc) just told me that they have released an aftermarket hitch for the Bronco that has an extended tube to put it out past the spare tire.

ArrickSports
So, I dropped the tow package today. That will help my odds a little bit but still constrained on the 2.7 and probably the fact that it is a 2-Door. Still, every little bit helps and I can always get an aftermarket hitch (hell, I designed them for 5 years so)

So funny that @ArrickSports just posted this below about the aftermarket hitch, I was literally writing this up. Here was the work around I did. If you are someone that likes to haul bikes around I needed an adapter to extend to clear the tire. This is a Kuat Transfer V3 hitch bike rack. Because it folds up and down it has a large piece that hits the tire. I needed 3 inches to clear the tire. A local trailer company sold a 7" extender. It does lower the weight capacity of the bikes you can put on the rack, so I would recommend a different solution but it works for me for the time being (unless the weight of your bikes are minimal or you just have one bike). I will probably move the tire eventually and will get the aftermarket hitch mentioned below for our second Bronco. We like to ride bikes so it was important to be able to fit a hitch rack on the back of ours.

As most of us know Advanced Fiberglass is going to be producing an aftermarket hardtop.
I've already decided that I will be purchasing one as the OEM hardtop appears as if it will never be available and honestly the aftermarket option may be superior quality wise.

Shipping is going to be quite cost prohibitive... but this can be mitigated with a group buy..

If anyone is considering purchasing the ADV top, let me know. Maybe we can throw something together and save some money.

We have:

- A web address and a basic setup for the content and function of the club website. Will share as soon as it's ready for prime time.

- Revising the logo with the website address incorporated shortly.

We should have some stickers and logo art to use/share in the next few weeks.

Now we need our next ride to share some swag 🎁🏆🇺🇲

Odd request :

Does anyone in/around Oakland County have a Squatched Bronco with leather & power seats. I need my wife to see it/climb up in it before she puts in a new order and sells our Badlands with manual seats.

I'm in Rochester/Troy/Auburn Hills area.

OK everyone, here are the finalists for "Michigan Bronco Club" logos. I like all three and nothing says we cant use each in different applications. In my mind, first order of business is to get some stickers made. We will post this on Bronco Nation and the Facebook group for voting as well.

I explored some decal options for our Michigan club. This was sent out in email to the list Mattwings has below so if you were not on that list yet please vote on here at this link. Any feedback or other options you would like to see please send me a DM.

We are still working on a club name - Logo B is the only option with our club name in it. Someone mentioned that name is already taken so we could implement that logo with a different name.
