My son and I took the modular hardtop off of our two door and we weighed the pieces.
The front panels weigh 17.4 and 17.8 pounds.
The gunner’s hatch weighs 13.8 pounds.
The rear side windows weigh 8 pounds each.
The rear hardtop weighs 94.8 pounds.
Altogether, the whole hardtop assembly weighs 160 pounds.
We removed the gunner’s hatch and the rear windows before removing the rear hardtop. My son and I are both 6 feet tall and in good health. Lifting the rear section off was not impossible, but it was heavy for us. We set it on 4 rolled up towels on the garage floor.

Thanks Jason! Here's the MIC weights:

So the total mod top at 160 is roughly 50 pounds heavier than the MIC!

I see the Velcro straps on the rear seatbelts. Did it work?

It does look good topless but would really pop to wrap the rollbars white or run a white JTop!

Welcome. Hopefully your wait isn’t too long. I assume your ordered a 4 door since rumor has it 2 doors are currently restricted to those with existing 2 door orders.
Yes! I forgot that one important fact. I ordered the 4 door. When it was first unveiled I thought for sure the 2 door was for me. I am single with no kids so I thought no need for the extra room. However, once I found out about the drastic difference in fuel tanks plus the extra room in the back, I immediately decided on the 4 door. More room for tailgating supplies! :)

Welcome aboard! The 4 door gets you the slide out tailgate for '24 so you'll be all ready!

My local dealership had a red 4 door in for a few days. It was the first Heritage I saw in person and it looked great.

Top off driving impressions, 2 door manual:

The rear seatbelts flap too much. I used Velcro straps to secure them to the c-pillar and painter’s tape to secure the section with the buckle to the interior plastic. Problem solved.

We drove up through Sonora and Tuolumne to Cherry Lake in CA. The drive includes country roads, 55 and 65 mph highways, twisty roads, and lots of elevation changes. The Bronco is way better to drive than I expected. With the windows up, wind noise and buffeting remain pleasant and it is easy to hear the radio (which I think is great) and talk with the passenger. It was cool (55 degrees) and overcast with occasional light rain. The heater helped but the heated seats, even on their lowest setting, are too hot to leave on for more than a few seconds.

I have been using sport mode with 4A regularly. The 2.3 is good and always feels like it has more than enough power in reserve. It helps to rev to 3,000 rpm or more before shifting while accelerating so the revs stay over 2,000 in the next gear. I was a little surprised that the car doesn’t recommend a gear. A couple of times, I went to downshift to fifth and found that I had already been driving in fifth at higher speeds. The engine is quiet and refined and doesn’t complain about the extra revs. The engine, steering, shifter, and clutch are car-like and easy. The brakes are a little squishy but they are predictable, consistent, and adequate.

The biggest surprise is the handling. The Bronco feels well balanced front to rear and it corners eagerly and playfully. Grip is good and it remains predictable over sandy, muddy, and damp pavement. It provides a lot of confidence and a sense of security. On faster corners, the tires howl an bit and my son thought it sounded like the call of a Sasquatch. We were both impressed with the tires. Body motions are exaggerated compared to a sports car, especially brake dive, but body roll is well controlled.

We turned onto a couple of trails to test the off road hardware. Low range is really low and the crawler gear in low range is ridiculous. Low range and the lockers engage quickly and easily and the only threat off road are narrow sections that might scratch the paint.

Nit picks: My right knee hits a corner on the dash unless I scoot back one more click than I prefer. The headrest is a little too close and I brush my hair on it occasionally. It is annoying that it doesn’t automatically stay in sport mode every time you start it. I would still prefer a V8, even if it had the same power. Removing the hardtop is a somewhat heavy two man job. We burnt more than $60 worth of gas in five or six hours.

The more I drive the Bronco, the more I like it and the more I look forward to future drives. It feels like a keeper.

Learn and respect the GOAT Modes…. I had not learned their specific details and had since only used Sand which engaged rear locker and missed disengagement likely due to not holding clutch until final message. Now today, parked on a hillside for bike race spectating…tilted about 20 deg, started backing up a 30 deg incline with the wheels cut in 2H with intermittent clutch and started spinning…in a shameful panic with bikers all around, I pushed 4L and let out the clutch…did not like what I heard but moved far enough to recut the wheel, reengage 2H and went about my business.. Now after reading more about the modes I know to just hit Sport or Slippery mode upon entering such a situation and let 4A do its thing!!!

DUH!!! 🙄

Just tried Sport Mode around town and I Like It!!!

I don't know how accurate this is since it was back from 2020 and you've probably seen it but might be new for others. It's going to be fun figuring out what really does what and in what situations is it easier to change the mode or select manually.

And the email I got tonight...

Dear James,

Thank you for being a valued Ford customer. We wanted to update you again on the status of your Bronco Heritage Edition order. While we initially predicted your vehicle build would begin week of July 10, 2023, the supply chain challenges we’ve been up against are still causing delays in production that are beyond our control.

We understand how frustrated you may be (we are too), and we apologize for any inconvenience. Rest assured, we are doing all we can to minimize the delays and get you on the road in your new vehicle as soon as possible.

Please continue to look out for updates from us. Once your vehicle is built, we will contact you again. In the meantime, we truly appreciate your patience and understanding.

Got the same email last night. Yet another non-informative communication from Ford.
54 days since my blend date and that is all the information they can provide me? Do better Ford!
