I did this exact upgrade over the weekend. I would say it is slightly better. Had the top off when I initially turned it on and tested and was kind of bummed it wasn't great, but once I put the top back on and I guess sealed the cabin, it does sound better. I think I am still going to look into a standalone amp for the sub - maybe the kicker 500.1, but it is better and will handle more power once I go that route.

I will say that I never bought into the fact that ford was sending engine sound through the stereo, but I swear it sounds deeper now after the sub change. I may have to look into those forscan changes, but if it sounds OK, does it matter?
Never bought into? It’s absolutely fact. You turn it off with forscan. It comes through kick panel the most. After I upgraded my amp it absolutely was intolerable.

the 500.1 is a good upgrade for the money. Run a new power wire with fuse and a remote wire.

You gotta believe, man! The confidence that comes from big engine noises is as real as you let it be! Let your state of mind become the real you!

Well, unless one wears $10+ clothes everyday, and does the gym at least 12 hrs a week with max 25% body fat, they dont give a hoot about what the world thinks and it doesnt matter anyway regardless.

99.9% of girls with clean teeth hate a loud car, as do most people, so a 4 banger is an attractive option to appeal to rest of the world and cheaper than $80K in clothes and less work than 50hrs hard gym time a month haha.

I have no idea what any of that means!! I’m a simple guy who just misses the soft burble of a 351 or a 289. I accept my quiet little 4 banger. Don’t mean I like!

My high level to low-level converter requires a 12v power supply, but I want it to come on with the ignition, not have constant 12v. Where can I tap in to an ignition on 12v power source. I checked the cigarette lighters and they are constant 12v. I thought about tapping in to the factory amp power wire, but its constant 12v. I have a 2023 with sub delete. This is my last thing and I can wrap up my after market sub install.

Just get an amp with integrated LOC plug in power from battery > fuse > amp and the high level wires then the sub and you're done, besides setting pas filters, gain and bass boost...very simple.

I already have the amp and it only has low level inputs so the converter was neccessary. I did discover that the cigarette lighter 12v power points do power down after about 45 min, so I am just going to tap in to that.

No need. I hooked everything up last night and it worked perfect. The LOC also had the the REM wire so that also worked out well. I will post about this very budget friendly setup once I tidy things up a bit. After almost 3 years of no sub, it sounds pretty dang good.

Perfect!! It's always a small detail that turn out to be critical. Any amplified sub upgrade has a huge positive impact on overall sound even if not a bass head. IMO it's the first audio upgrade.

Ok. I guess I am in over my head here. I got the kicker key 500.1 kit from plugnplaykits. I have the power run to the battery and can probably figure out which plug in the b&o amp the kit goes in, but how do I connect to the sub itself? I thought by plug in play it would be ready, but nothing matches up to the green plug on top of the enclosure that goes to the sub. Couple hours in now and super frustrated.
