I love this guy's channel! So glad he's finally covering it. I though the 2.7L was both port and direct injected?
Yeah, they are. Not sure why he didn’t know that considering everything else he said.

What’s with people’s poo-poo on the wet belt? I haven’t ever heard of one needing to be changed.

People tend to criticize what they don't understand. I lasted about 2 minutes with this clown.... nope. 😅

Some of what he says in his videos is correct, some is not.
He complains about the interior plastics, but has no problem with them in the new 4Runner. I was about to buy a 6Gen 4runner before I bought my Bronco. The plastics in the 6Gen 4Runner are garbage, and the fit is terrible.
But he had no problem with them in the 4Runner.

Yeah, a bit of a double standard there. I do wish our plastics held up better. My 2021 looks pretty damn rough.

I will say he is 99% spot-on with how I feel about it. It is an awesome vehicle, and there are just a few things we wish were done better. We've beaten many of those topics to death here, but I think many of us could live with some of the gripes if the others were resolved. Interior plastics and power+ memory seats would go a very long way.

Agree with you! I too considered the new 4Runner, but what steered me away primarily is that I didn't want a hybrid (for the trim I wanted). Also, it was a 1st year design. Although, I am willing to bet that the early 6g 4Runners will fare better than the early built Broncos.

The interior plastics on the 4Runner aren't much nicer than the Bronco, if at all.

What he also glossed over is that since you can remove the entire roof of the Bronco, the interior was designed to be resistant to getting wet, dirty and muddy, and as such, the materials should be easier to clean.

That also applies to the lack of power seats in some models, like the Stroppe and Badlands and other models with interiors designed to be hosed out. Yes, that doesn't apply to all models, such as my WildTrak with the power seats and carpeted interior, but that goes to his point that you buy the model (hopefully) that fits your needs.

In my case, while I have taken my Bronco on trails, I don't anticipate doing deep water fording and having to take a hose to rinse out the interior. If that was my primary intent, I would've purchased a Badlands.

People love to hate on things they don’t understand just because they think it’ll be a problem

Edit: just saw @DALOLA ’s comment. Exactly what I was thinking 😂

Surprised that the pricey Stroppe he reviewed doesn’t have power seats but the more affordable Badlands with Lux does.

Reviewer was jazzed about the mirrors being connected to the body instead of to the doors, but didn’t mention that design feature also makes the doors that much easier to take off and store.

Similar experience with a tacoma before committing to the Bronco. Also didn't have as much of that customization Car Care Nut hints at (no front locker, no 35s, no rear gear for 35s...).

The Bronco was more comfortable and performed/handled much better (I basically think of my 2.3L as a monster GTI). Just a lot of fun to look at and drive that I didn't feel at all with the Tacoma.

Long term reliability is my only concern, and Ford offers the extended warranties to deal with that.

Appointment set for the 2025 2.3L tune...can't wait.

No 2 door has power seats, for obvious reason. Doesn’t make sense to have to wait for a power seat to slide forward for someone to get in the back.

I guess I'm a fanboy, but he didn't really criticize it harshly. He just said he doesn't understand the design choice. Glad you guys with real world maintenance experience are here to guide us.
