This is something I've been wanting to do since I got my bronco over 3 years ago.

The shovel is a long handle spade, the right kind for digging a cat hole if you know what I mean!

Out of the way and out of sight unless you kneel down a little to look up, and silent no rattle.

Where do you guys keep your shovel?

What makes this location work is the shape of the spade shovel, it's flatter than the typical earth moving shovel.

This one, with D-handle replaced with a long handle, shorted a few inches to fit, and I did round off the square corners a little.
Ace 41.5 in. Steel Garden Spade Wood Handle Mfr# 70033 - Ace Hardware

This D handle was the shove I used since getting my bronco and I would put in the back where-ever it would fit which was always in the way, you know what that's like!

It's great shovel for everything I've needed off-road and camping, and now it has a home on the back roll cage, it's out of the way and always there.

I have a rather tiny fold-up shovel and it fits in there by the jack along with a tow strap, two soft shackles, and a couple of other random things that I might need someday. The stuff that I use every time I'm out in the dirt I keep in a bag behind the rear seat.

Under the rear cargo area is great for rarely needed items, for everything else I like to have them accessable without unloading the entire bronco.

My tire patch kit and compressor are under my seat and they get used a fair amount.

My shovel gets used every time I'm camping so having easy access to it is high value to me.

I keep both my shovel and axe in the same location, that location is very easy to access.

I like that however it must block your rear view.

Mine is daily driver, clean appearance, no roof racks, to stickers, modern classic.

Whose winch mount did you use? And how did you relocate the muffler?
I used a HF premade winch plate and custom made the bumper around it with reinforcement for the frame. The exhaust is in stock location the outlet is no longer round from rocks. I'll get a pic before we head up to foothills in a few.

anyone prefer to carry a gardening hoe ?
It's what I carry surf fishing on the beach.
way more efficient on sand (JMHO)
For beach sand, I agree a hoe works really well!
