I hope Scout is watching this. They would really sell some vehicles if they offered a full ICE version!

Sure looks that way. The Maverick is doing way better than the Ranger. And the midsize truck market is supposedly hot. Looking at Lincoln sales, it might be time to close the books on that brand.

Have to wonder how many would-be Wrangler buyers are awaiting the Recon release at this point.

Yup.

There isn't enough differentiation between Ranger and F150 - both in terms of size and cost. Maverick isn't exactly my favorite entry, but closer to the mark, and the sales show.

If Ranger came standard 2Dr and dropped a few k off the base price - and actually put those on dealer stock, you could keep the 4dr variants around but I bet it would sell a whole lot better.

As it is right now, if you are in the market for a truck and considering Ranger - you are better off just ponying up about $5k more and jumping into an F150... or for price/size concious buyers dropping to Maverick and saving a few k.

The recon is going to be interesting both in sales and performance.

EXACTLY. This is a proven strategy - especially as gas prices also surge. Throw in a manual transmission too and I'd crack open the wallet myself.

The world does not need any more huge white or black four-door trucks. And bring back Eruption Green!

I noted that Mustang sales were up too.

Rangers are large enough. F150's are just too damned big. Mavericks are...Bronco sports of the truck world. As a not a truck guy, if I am buying a truck, I want a truck. Not a car with a bed. I honestly really like the Rangers, it's kind of a Goldilocks truck atm.

Maybe buyers are unimpressed with the corrosion issue and how it's being handled?

This.

Before I finally bought my '19 F150 RCSB, I was going back and forth between the F150 and the 2-door extended cab Ranger. But they were only just a few grand apart (like $3-4K, IIRC) equipped how I wanted, so it was a no brainer to spend the extra and go F150 for the 5.0 V8 and the true 2-door cab.

I had a '03 Ranger Edge RCSB 4x4 too. Loved that thing. I'd buy its equivalent today if it was actually produced and priced as it should be.
