Gonna be taking in my 2022 Wildtrak 4dr with Lux for the same issues on thursday next week. I've also got ford premiumcare so will report back on if I have to pay anything for them to fix it. Hopefully the $2800 I paid for 36k mi/3 years of coverage means that I won't need to spend anything but an hour at the dealer. Better not cost me anything lol!

There’s an adapter that keeps plugged from slipping out of outlet. It was black three prong, and I will have to look for it in my notes. If anybody else finds it, please post.

I guess I am old but I usually will bend one of the prongs on the plug slightly so when it’s in the outlet will not come out easily. Done this a few times to overcome that outlet issue.
Not always possible with things like laptop chargers that have the prongs molded into plastic, where bending could break the plastic before bending the metal. But for certain things, sure, that is an option. My concern, though, is that loose outlets are a fire hazard. Increased resistance due to a smaller contact point between the prong and the socket can create a lot of heat if it were to go unchecked.

No problems with my outlet. I use it to charge my ecoflow. For my use case, the inverter does not provide a clean enough signal for the ecoflow when plugged in directly. That's working as intended, it's not a pure sinewave signal. In order for me to charge my ecoflow, I bought an AC/DC converter with a 12v outlet and plug into that.

Is converting DC -> AC -> DC efficient? No. But it works, and puts a little more juice into my ecoflow than just using the 12v port. Since my ecoflow has two ports, I typically run one from the plug in the center console, and one via the inverter/converter together to get ~200w input give or take.

EDIT: Dug up an old image I'd taken of the ecoflow app when I was testing this out. You can see 2 12v car inputs. one is 101w and the other is 96w. The 101w input is from my inverter/converter combo, and the 96w is from the 12v port in the center console. The converter is /supposed/ to be 180w, but for a cheap amazon special, I am not shocked that it's putting out significantly less than claimed.

Wondering if anyone else has encountered similar issues that I've been having with my 110V outlet. I'm planning a 2 week digital nomad road trip in a few days and need to rely on my Jackery 1000 power station for essentials.

Issue 1: Loose socket
Most plugs fit so loosely in the socket that they fall out on their own. I've semi-permanently fixed this with an Amazon product, but has anyone else experienced this? I recall similar on my Fusion too. just a @Ford Motor Company issue?

Issue 2: inconsistent power
By far the bigger issue. When I plug the power station in with the car on, it makes a cranking noise for about 2 seconds then stops. The unit then starts charging, but it cycles up, receiving power, and then cuts out. This process lasts about 2 seconds and repeats continuously. This essentionally does not charge the unit. The same does not occur when it is plugged into a wall outlet in the house.

Bronco fam, any ideas or similar experiences?
OP, your charge problem is likely caused by the Jackery not wanting to charge on a modified sinewave inverter (what the bronco has). That's the same problem I had with my ecoflow and solved as you could see in my previous post. I checked google quickly, and AI confirms. I'm too lazy to dig deeper to find the non AI answer if you don't trust the AI.

Charging a Jackery 1000 on a modified sine wave inverter is generally not recommended and often fails, as the Jackery's charging circuit typically requires a Pure Sine Wave source. Using modified sine wave can lead to clicking noises, no charging, or potential damage to the power station's electronics due to inefficient power conversion. [1, 2, 3]
This video explains why modified sine wave inverters are generally not suitable for charging portable power stations:

How To Fast Charge Your Power Station From Your Vehicle!

  • Why it Fails: Modified sine wave inverters create a "choppy" power wave rather than a smooth, continuous sine wave, which sensitive electronics in the Jackery detect as unclean power.
  • Risks: It can cause efficiency losses, heat buildup, and failure to charge.
  • Better Alternatives:
    • Direct 12V Car Charging: Use the Jackery 12V Car Charger Cable directly into a car cigarette lighter (though this is slow).
    • Pure Sine Wave Inverter: If you must use an inverter, it must be a pure sine wave type connected directly to a 12V battery.
    • Solar Panels: Use Jackery SolarSaga panels for the most efficient, safe, and clean charging option.
  • Recommendation: Do not purchase a modified sine wave inverter specifically for this purpose; use 12V DC-to-DC charging instead.

Yeah, I’ve tried that on the bronco 110 and it doesn’t work

Confirmed the 110V doesn’t supply enough power. I connected it to the DC connector in the center console though and that works. Hope that helps for anyone else!

It's not that it doesn't supply enough power. It doesn't supply the proper kind of power. There's more to it than just 110v and 400w.

Ha. So. Wareham Ford told me that if it's covered by my Premium are Warranty, then it'd be a $100 deductible. They informed me that this wouldn't count towards a yearly deductible like health insurance - so if I bring it in for another thing, let's say the transmission blows or something, then the deductible resets per visit. AND, they won't know if it's covered by premcare until they diagnose that it's actually the outlet and not something else. They can't know if the outlet is covered under warranty until they do the diagnosis. If it's NOT covered under warranty, then diagnostic is $169.99, PLUS the cost of the part and labor to fix it. Holy FUCK. What a waste of money with the premium care situation.

So, I just ordered the part for $40 from that link mentioned above and will be replacing it myself. Yippee. 🤣
