Curious what the one thing is you MUST bring on the road with you.

Could be recovery gear, snacks, tools… anything you refuse to leave home without 😄
Depends on what I'm doing, but regardless I do bring my 12 volt fridge and a jackery. I love not having to purchase expensive convenience store drinks on any road trip now that I have the fridge.

Recovery gear, tools, gooloo stays in the bronco all the time. Beer fridge and power station get added as needed along with bolting on some fuel.

For folks that have been around for a long time, there isn't just "one" thing you always have in your car, regardless of whether or not its a road trip

- Several water bottles
- Mountain money (toilet paper)
- Road flares (I have used these more than I can count in my life, probably 20x)
- "get home bag" (different than a bug-out bag, full change of clothes+rain jacket,+hat+sunglasses), power bars, money, insulated water bottle, comfortable walking/hiking shoes) all in a non-descript lightweight backpack
- first aid kit with hemostatic gauze
- Jumper cables/jump starter
- portable electric tire pump and flat fix it tools (vulcanized rubber plugs, awl, insert tool)
- emergency tool kit+duct tape+multiple bungee cords
- fire extinguisher (bigger in Bronco than what is in my BMW)

This isn't just for the Bronco, it is in every vehicle I own. It is totally worth the space. I have used everything at least once in my 40 years of driving.
This feels less like a packing list and more like 40 years of experience condensed into one comment 😅

The fact that you've used every one of those items at least once is probably the best argument for carrying them.

A beer fridge and power station definitely takes the road trip experience up a notch 😅

Sounds like you've got the essentials permanently loaded, then just scale up the setup depending on where the adventure is taking you.

Honestly, having cold drinks whenever you want starts feeling like a luxury and then quickly becomes a necessity 😅

I can definitely see how it'd pay for itself after enough road trips.
