Question regarding using forscan to add sport mode - Were you able to successfully do so? I changed the third to last character to a B and I got an error saying my change might be wrong? I turned it on and Sport mode was added successfully. Also, is it fine to run in 4A at all times in sport mode?
I've always changed to 2WD when going into sport...but 4A shouldn't cause any issues...

Sport mode should automatically select 4A, so you're good.

Thanks for this. I ran Sport mode in my 2021 BB all the time with no issues. Should I be concerned about the error I encountered when enabling sport mode in Forscan?

It stated something like - the value entered could be wrong, but should be ok? Something like that.

I'm not very familiar with Forscan, so someone with a better understanding will hopefully chime in.

The message you're referring to - was that in Forscan when you made the change? Or did you get some error message on your Bronco or a DTC code?

If it's just in Forscan then I believe you are okay. I have seen something similar when I hit the execute/write button and have not had any issues.

No it was in Forscan. Sport mode runs fine with no errors in the Bronco and it drives fine.

I think it's totally ok! Thank you.

I think that is just the default forscan warning that you're making a change. Should be all good.

So, I hooked up forscan and disabled the double honk key thing. Then I attempted to add Sport Mode. After selecting write, it popped up a warning which I believe is the same one you had. It gave me the option to continue or not. I freaked out and backed out without the update. Did you have any additional issues at all after disconnecting and running in Sport Mode.

I have no problems with Sport mode after using Forscan to activate it. I use it a lot now but usually put it in 2H after switching. I wish I could have it default to 2H when using Sport mode.

I also deactivated Eco mode with Forscan. Now, I can go directly to Sport without having to go through Eco.

Mine goes from Normal to Slippery then Sport. Do you have Slippery?

Are your screenshots the default instrument cluster display on 2025 models? Or was it enabled with Forscan?

It is the 2025 Display the only thing I did was turn on Sport Mode. No change to the display other then the mode added.

I just enabled Baja GOAT mode on my 2024 Black Diamond Sasquatch, and it works as expected.

And I disabled the three note start up jingle.

UPDATE…Looks like I spoke too soon and had to restore the ABS and ICP back to As-Built.

Adding Baja worked, but caused too many other glitches. While out on trail a week ago I was running Mud/Ruts mode in 4L. Every time I turned off the vehicle and restarted, I was asked to return to the the previous mode and I acknowledged. But my instrument cluster displayed Normal mode in 4H. If I changed modes again after restarting, it worked as expected until the vehicle was turned off.

As for the Instrument Cluster…when my Bronco was new I disabled the seatbelt warnings manually. After disabling the start up jingle, the seatbelt light was back on all the time.

Since we don’t have the source code to look through to determine root cause, I thought the best course of action was to restore the modules back to As-Built

That is the checksum function. FORscan will present that message every time you change a value in a string. It's normal. From the FORscan tutorial...

Example 1 - Double Horn Honk disable (2015-20 F150)
Taking a look at my common spreadsheet, it shows the following for this mod:

BCM 726-41-02 xxx0 xxxx xxxx

The x’s above mean to ignore whatever you currently have in the positions denoted by the x’s at that address and to only change the non-x value which in this example is a “0” in the fourth position of the values area. You probably have a “1” currently in that fourth position so all you need to do is change your “1” to a “0” there and click the write button and ignore any message about incorrect checksum and continue with the write.

FYI on my 2026 OBX I removed Eco mode and then realized that if I also removed Slippery mode... Sport would be right next to Normal and one less click away. Slippery wasn't listed in plain English non-As Built, but I did have Mode 06 (Low/Mud Mode) enabled from the factory. I disabled that, and Slippery is gone. :)
