You all wild lugging around your jack and doing it one at a time.

Well, I take the spare off and do one wheel at a time. Sure as heck a lot faster than jacking up one wheel at a time, placing each on jack stands, rotating tires, then jacking each up again to remove the stands. I just don't have that much time to waste. Unless I needed to kill time, which I don't. Even worse you could use the factory jack and take forever instead of of good floor jack.

By moving around, to each tire, lugging your jack and repeating. Make it make sense, Bro!
I only go to each tire once and I wouldn't even think of lifting my floor jack. That's why it has wheels.
But if your way makes sense to you, keep at it. It's your time.
It does look cool on jackstands in the parking lot, so that's something.

Did you have to lug those stands out there and put them back up?

Really man, I don't care how you do it. We are just giving you crap. Glad to see you do it yourself instead of taking it to the shop.

If you're having trouble lifting the OEM Goodyears, then you're getting old (which sure beats the alternatives!*). Another thing about getting old is becoming careless with details. An idea: chalk on each tire where it will go, so you don't make a careless mistake with your pattern.

*Tip of the hat to Mark Twain for that one.

At least it's not "Highway To Hell!"

Still more work, bruddah. Not much effort to

2 jacking points, 10 pumps of your jack at most, slide stands under and you working your rotation.

doesn't take much to roll the jack around (it's got wheels) 😁

Having done a 4 tire rotation where I had to put the vehicle on stands vs a 5 tire rotation. I'll take 1 corner at a time for speed and ease every day of the week. 20-30 minutes (less if I had an impact wrench). Easy peasy, and a lot easier to avoid a mistake.

I even pull the spare out of my Mustang these days to avoid putting it on stands (though the unibody Mustang is a pain to get on stands properly is part of that).

Lugging the jack around isn't so bad when each wheel/tire is 112 lbs... Plus my jack has wheels. Where is your central jacking point in the front? I don't think my jack goes high enough to touch the anything near the center in the front

OP’s method:
  • Move Bronco to level surface, so it’s somewhat stable when set on jack stands. In OP’s case it blocks the driveway and the side walk.
  • Remove spare.
  • Move jack to rear at the end of the drive way, lift rear, place on jack stands.
  • Lower, check stability, re-adjust jack stands if needed.
  • Move jack to front, lift front, place on jack stands.
  • Lower, check stability, re-adjust jack stands if needed.
  • Remove rear wheels/tires mark with chalk so you don’t forget which one goes where.
  • Remove front wheels/tires mark with chalk so you don’t forget which one goes where.
  • Install spare on right rear, hand tighten lug nuts.
  • Install front right tire, hand tighten lug nuts.
  • Install front left tire, hand tighten lug nuts.
  • Lift jack at front, remove jack stands, lower and torque front wheels.
  • Install rear left tire, hand tighten lug nuts.
  • Move jack to rear of vehicle, lift and remove jack stands, lower and torque rear wheels.
  • Replace the spare and torque.
  • Re-torque all wheels.
  • Move the 4 jack stands back to storage
  • Move jack back to storage.
  • Move Bronco back into drive way.
  • Optional - Explain to neighborhood kids that a vehicle on jack stands is not stable and not to play around it.
  • Optional - explain to police, neighbors, etc. that you’ll only be blocking the side walk for a few more minutes and you’re sorry that Auntie Aolani has to take her walker to the other side of the street for her evening walk.
  • Optional – Explain to the wife that she can’t park in the driveway after work and she’ll need to park on the street with 9 bags of groceries. And, you’d help her carry them in but can’t leave the Bronco unattended while it’s on jack stands.
Optional method
  • Leave the Bronco where it is- since it will always have at least 3 wheels/tires in place.
  • Remove spare.
  • Move jack to right rear, lift right rear, remove/replace wheel /tire hand tighten lug nuts.
  • Lower jack, torque lug nuts.
  • Move jack to right front, lift front, remove/replace wheel /tire hand tighten lug nuts.
  • Lower jack, torque lug nuts.
  • Move jack to left rear, lift left rear, remove/replace wheel /tire hand tighten lug nuts.
  • Lower jack, torque lug nuts.
  • Move jack to left front, lift front, remove/replace wheel /tire hand tighten lug nuts.
  • Lower jack, torque lug nuts.
  • Replace the spare and torque.
  • Re-torque all wheels.
  • Move jack back to storage.
  • Optional – show one of your children, who is ready to get their license, how to change a tire.
  • Optional – Say Aloha to Auntie Aolani as she takes her evening walk.
  • Optional – stop what you’re doing at points 1 thru 13 and help the wife with the groceries.

From a Lean Manufacturing standpoint the OP's method involves more movement, risk, and effort.

truth be told the hardest part is getting the my 35s (soon to be 37s) back on the hub, even the spare is easier to put back on imo, I'm considering getting this, which will make the one wheel at a time even easier

More work imho doing it one at a time. I just jack up front, throw jacks under. Jack up rear, repeat. No need for lugging around the jack. How I do it "looks" cumbersome but way more efficient. Working smart, not hard. Soon to be 51 and this took 2 shakes! 🤣🤙🏾
While many people lift solid-axle vehicles by the differential housing, it places the entire rear weight of the vehicle through a component that was designed primarily to transmit torque and contain gear oil, not serve as a routine lifting point. Repeated lifting will place unnecessary stress on the differential housing, axle tubes and welds. Most technicians prefer lifting from manufacturer-approved jacking points or directly under the axle tubes near the spring perches because those locations are designed to support vehicle weight. Just because lifting by the pumpkin often works doesn't make it the best or lowest-risk method.
