I'd entertain the Bronco V8, but mainly for the Exhaust tone. I think the V6 Twin Turbo provides enjoyable power and ample street acceleration, but the exhaust lacks the performance sound.

Off-Road, I don't think I've ever required high HP & torque, so not needed functionality. Secondarily, the acceleration would provide a little more giggle joy! But thinking a 6000 lb heavy "Box" as a competitive street toy isn't in the design of the Bronco.

Just say NO! To GM products..... 😒
That's pretty lame. GM is having problems with their engines due to the absurd MDS systems, but its not like the others aren't having problems. The Colorado is a pretty
Ford needs to get serious about its QC. The amount of recalls and service bulletins is absolutely ridiculous. The whole frameless windows is not a new concept and has been done for ever and still is being used by other manufacturers. Problem is Ford half-assed a lot of things on the Bronco. New better seals, new gasket for the frameless windows, V8, and sound acoustic glass would do wonders for the Bronco.

Will definitely see where life is at when the Jimmy hits the market. But if Ford makes the necessary quality improvements to the Bronco they still have a winner.
Recalls are mostly a joke, there is only one on my Bronco I would waste my time taking it in. I've been driving my Bronco for four years in stop & go traffic with no issues. It it was breaking down all the time I would get rid of it in a heartbeat. But honestly I could care less about most of the recalls.

I don't get why anyone would want a V8 in the Bronco. Towing capacity is limited already, so hauling a 35 foot boat ain't on the table anyway. And considering that manufacturers are under some harsh mileage scrutiny....they can't have a mid-size SUV getting 15-18 mpg....
Because it's cool :)

Even entertaining the notion that GM produces this at all and it doesn't get axed, I do hope it comes with a V8. That way all the whiners here can switch to a jimmy and we won't need 10000 more threads and comments crying about not getting what they wanted.

Funniest thing to me is that we hear a lot of folks complaining about No V8, Frameless Windows and BOF with a fixed roof, yet none of them would even consider the current Tahoe or Yukon, which are the direct descendants of the K5 Blazer...

This is just more clickbait…like the scout, slate, Jeep pickup, myers max and many more that don’t exist…I don’t believe anything til it is in the showroom…but 5 pages already with no actual facts…

Mustang has had frameless windows since 1964. As you say, not exactly new.

I think the biggest issue is the safety BS. In 65 nobody worried about pinch sensors, just ran the windows up until they hit an actual hard stop.

Difference between Ford and GM:
Ford Recall = your stupid backup camera that you don't use might go black.
GM recall = we have your third 6.2L V-8 ready for you because we forgot how to make 8 cylinder engines.

We’ll see what GM does with the new V8s getting ready to drop. Rumors in the GM circles are that they are dropping the BS cylinder deactivation crap. Not sure but with the Trump admin loosening the EPA regulations they might be able to make a reliable V8 again.

But Ford has a great V8 available. Drop that damn 5.0 in the Bronco already Ford.

I've owned a 70, 71, and 85 Blazer. Of course I'll take a look. I'm sure to be disappointed.
The 4.3L Vortec is probably a better engine than any of those came with, even though it's not a V8. The 350s in my K5s weren't exactly HO.

A GMC Jimmy is much more appealing than my current plan: Scout Motors or Lincoln Bronco.

The Scout only comes in four doors and I don’t trust Volkswagen to make a product that lasts. The Lincoln Bronco seems more like another money grab by Ford than anything else, and it’ll probably be four doors only, too.

The GMC Jimmy, though, could offer a V8 in a two door package, and it won’t cost >$80k like the other two.

Not interested. I would be if it was 2-door and based off the Sierra.

Bronco sales are going up every month so I think the Jimmy and the Bronco can find their niche. Ford has 3 years to drop in a Naturally aspirated V8 and make more good accessories.
