hoss 3.0 takeoffs are better than any shock you'll get for less than 5k, unless you absolutely need the lift to clear a 37. only thing that's gonna party harder is an 8112 or a 3.2 live valve.

Awesome! Maybe I should plan on these: Fox 2.5" HOSS 3.0 shock kit
and wait for a good deal on accessories.
It would be amazing if they ride at hwy speeds as good or better than base stock!

they'll have a bit more on-road harness since it's a digressively valved IBP shock, where the hitatchi is a progressively valved monotube. but offroad on big hits they'll soak it up.

the 5100s reuse the stock springs
Right, and I don't think you can do that on the non-Sas with the Hitachis. I'm not even sure they're a coilover. I dunno, I just remember 5112's were for non-Sas and 5100's were for Sas and the latter omitted the spring.

I think you can use the Hitachis spring but you may wish you hadn’t down the line

Things covered pretty good….I would just add; join some kind of off road group & go on runs with them…make friends…don’t go alone…learn and find out what ya ”need” (or even if ya like it)…much slower then the bike…enjoy!

(I just re-learned how to quote/post!)

This! Exactly - what got me going this morning were two posts on FB for Georgia Broncos Community Group about rides they have coming up! I mentioned it to my wife and she said something like - those groups are great - the members are always friendly and want to meet people.

I don't know if there is a 5112...6112 is a 6100 Series complete with spring. 5100's for the Bronco reuse the stock springs...Hitachi, Badlands non-sasquatch, or any Sasquatch. Screaming deal with a huge improvement over stock Hitachis without worrying about spring rates, plus with height adjustment you can compensate for a winch or typical gear loadout.

With an unlimited pocketbook I would have the 8100's however :)

There is, but apparently it's a suspension-based leveling kit (did not know that exists...). Good to know on the springs, clearing up blind spots one at a time!

Just get out there and get muddy.

If you're just getting into it, I doubt you'll be tackling high difficulty rated trails where you need skids and lifts and all that. Go see what it will do as it is.

These types of vehicles tend to get people overexcited and they pour $$$ into crap they don't need (yet/ever).

You don't need skid plates at all or lift if you're just doing 1-3 rated trails IMO.

Once you hit a place where you go "it won't do what I would like to do" ask yourself what that thing is you want to do and modify accordingly.

Example (from a past vehicle of mine) Ahhh! I banged my diff on a rock at the off-road park! It screwed up my drain plug. I better protect my diff or lift it and get more clearance with bigger tires. I already had 35s so went with a simple skid. Never had that problem again.

(or learn to take better lines! Experience is the great equalizer).

Go try it out and get some miles of trails under your belt before you make any decisions is my .02 cents
