Would it be worth it somehow to disconnect the battery and see if it will relearn because somehow, someway that is actually the cause?
Yeah you could certainly try to force a relearn by disconnecting the battery for a little while. Either that or if you have forscan, you should be able to just go in and reset adaptive learning

Is there any chance you could have bumped a wire going to the transmission? One of the older GM trucks I had the previous owner had a line going to the trans rub and scrape off the insulation and ground out causing really firm shifts. The oil change doesn't really make sense in terms of affecting the trans but you never know.

It would more than likely set a check engine light. Every circuit in the transmission is heavily monitored

I'll give that a try as soon as I can

This is what I’m thinking. Costs nothing, but can take some miles to relearn

There have been some OTA updates showing up. My PCM tried to update, but said it isn't complete. Not sure, but maybe because of the Ford Performance tune? Do you have the tune NOTR? Driving today, I didn't notice any weirdness, in fact I thought it was running really well with the top off. Way less rattles.

Oh, and sometime recently one of my 7 open recalls for the blank infotainment screen was fixed with an OTA update, too, according to the letter I got in snail mail today. Wouldn't think that would affect the tranny shifting, but one never knows what might happen with a software update.

I'll check the status of all of my updates. I don't have a tune. Was going to tune, but I think I'm going to give this vehicle to my wife and move on to something else in a year.

I was waiting for one of you goons to chime in. 😂😂😂
I am not a "4 door hater" and even owned a few myself, but they all had a manual gearbox.
I can say that every manual gearbox I have owned never had to "learn how to shift".
Maybe that's what made me -- as my wife describes me, a "manual car snob".

I know...I know... I prefer a manual too and almost every single one of my vehicles has been manual. That being said, I couldn't deal with the insanely sluggish 2.3 motor. The Wildtrak is the quickest of the Broncos and even that feels a bit snail-like to me based on the vehicles I've driven for most of my life. It's adequate, but not ideal. That's just my opinion though. Everyone has a different idea of what matters to them in a vehicle
