2017 2018 Had the best lines on the 6th Gen.
then they the bed with the Flow-Tie
now I can’t tell if it’s a dodge or a Chevy coming at me.

5th Gen Camaro & Mustang were their best modern refresh. those designers nailed it. Last of the muscle cars was 5th Gen as well. After that I’d argue they shifted to sports cars. They did the same BS in the late 80s shifting to European influences.

I’ve owned one or both of every Gen since 3 at one point or another.
they‘re both fun cars.

The 4th gen Mustang is the last Mustang I really loved, though lately the 5th has FINALLY started growing on me. I guess maybe just not a mustang guy, since apart from the New Edge I only really like the first gen. The Coyote is a damn cool engine though.


If I had to get one of the Detroit 3, I'd probably try to get the Challenger, but that's a dead-car walking now.

I actually like the way the Ecoboost version looks versus the GT. No hood scoop and the fascia inlets are a bit smaller which I like. Not the generation I'm gonna go out and buy though. Let's be honest, my '02 GT is gonna have to be the mustang in the garage because after buying the bronco, I can only afford a Mustang II

Meh....I still like the gen 5 mustangs. And yeah, the big back fender bulges make it look like a camaro.

You have great taste! I had a 2013 Camaro for 4 years in that same blue! I also had a 2017 in white and I agree the car was beautiful, I loved the hood. I wanted to get an SS in 2019 and that redesign pissed me off, it was so bad. They destroyed everything I loved about the car lol. I said the same thing though, they’re sports cars now, not muscle cars. I liked the early Mustang designs better too. Dodge still makes muscle cars for at least this year though. I ended up getting a 2019 Scat Pack and that car was a blast for 2 years but I eventually moved on for a Jeep haha.

Also we reserved a 2 door Bronco is green.

I tend to withhold any negative judgement until I see a new car in person. In 2014 I hated the S550 but now they have grown on me a lot. I will always love the New Edges, 87-93 Foxbody cars and 1st gens more though. As an avid lover of all things V8 but also find the tech and appeal of electric to be awesome, it is a very interesting time to be alive. ICEs are fading away, Mustang was the first and likely the last of the muscle car era..

From watching the reveal in Hart Plaza in downtown Detroit it looked like front and rear bumper cover was the only real external change over the S550, with a modified hood, sure the interior with the Chinese spec wide screen look across two screens is new, but externally it doesn't read as a new generation, though we weren't really allowed close up to them.

I'll reserve final judgement until seeing it up close, but so far I'll keep my 2016 GT premium as the sport pony, and my OBX as the sport utility pony.

I just did a double take, I know most of us are ford enthusiasts, but your path looks to be the same as mine. I had a 2013 Focus ST, the I bought a 2016 GT premium with PP which I'll keep forever probably and I'm waiting on our 2.7 OBX. Just for fun, ST was Tux black, Mustang is guard green and OBX will be Area 51, yours?
