Imadumbass.

I did contact McGard with a picture of the lock but they haven't gotten back to me yet.

Any knowledgeable members that can identify this lock number for the Bronco Sas wheels?
And yeah, I'll do away with the locks after I get them off.
I did watch a couple videos showing how to defeat the locks, but I'd prefer to buy a replacement key and take them off gently.

Most tire shops will have a variety of wheel lock adapters on hand. I'd call or swing by a few and ask..

Looks like the Ford Brand wheel lock. I purchased a set from Ford Parts. Ford service departments likely have the key to remove your lock, if not, a Bronco owner near you.

Stop by your Ford dealer. Match up key from master kit. Have them order new key. Usually takes less than a week from McGard.

I did the same thing on another car. Brake shop down the street got them off for me at no charge. Took about 30 seconds.

Or just look at the card that came with the lockset that explains how to use the number to order more.

That quickly makes me concerned the wheel locks serve little purpose.

Obviously it’s to deter most folks, but still…

Yeah, all they do is keep the honest people honest.

My Bronco came with aftermarket rims/lugs

First time I took my wheels off, I didn't even realize there was a key. I was able to get a 19mm on there just fine, just was really, really hard to get the lug out of the socket after I pulled it out.

Then I found the key rolled up in some bubble wrap back by the jack.

True. They serve little purpose and only make life inconvenient when getting a flat or rotating tires.

My wife recently had a flat in our other car. I didn’t even realize it had wheel locks. Mind you this was 11:30pm downtown Oakland, CA. She called me for help. I could hear the many “helpful people” in the gas station background and she hung up making me feel a bit nervous. But she’s good with people. Anyway the random dudes at the gas station had rings full of wheel locks. Kinda funny. They helped her change the flat and she got on her way unharmed. Oakland being Oakland… the good side!

If you registered it you can contact McGard and get a duplicate. Every set I buy I always buy a spare aka duplicate key. If you still have the registration card you can call them and get a duplicate as well. It's all explained here; https://mcgard.com/customer-service/order-a-replacement-part-online-now/

I bought a McGard set off AMZ, and then ordered a spare key. Finally went to put on my wheel locks today and on the final wheel the lock slips while torquing. Looked closed and i guess the key broke. Luckily i had the spare key and it ended up slipping as well. At that point, i just pulled them all back off and set up an AMZ return.

This is the 3rd vehicle i've used McGard and never had an issue before. Now i will just hope that if someone goes to steal my wheels/tires, they throw their back out lifting them mofos.
