sadly, even in the Texas heat here in Houston I often struggle to find shade and this STILL happens. It's been happening to me for years though. Park as far from the entrance as possible, and come out and there's cars at all 4 spots...I've never understood the idea behind people boxing in someone that didn't wanna be in a tight spot. My Tundra was pretty big, and I'm partially disabled, so I getting in and out I needed the full swing of the door, so if the handicap spot isn't available I won't try to squeeze into a spot and park away from other vehicles...always come out to find someone who decided I didn't need to get back in my truck without a struggle.

Sometimes I'll park next to cool car to protect them. I know why they are out there and I can cover one side for them.

At work I parked 50 yards from the nearest car when I got my new Mustang. This was in a section of the lot nobody parked in for years. A week later, three other cars, a month later six other cars. Usually everybody separated by a space.

Remember that to you the car next to you might be a POS but to the owner it might be the most expensive thing they own and a prized possession.

I know what you mean. A couple weeks ago I parked WAY away just because I was at a grocery store I didn't really know, and when I came out, I saw this Honda Civic parked right next to my Bronco, with 3 kids in it and I just KNEW that one of them was going to throw the door open fast and cause damage. Sure enough, just as I was hurrying to get there, I hear a loud bang on my passengers side, and I run around. The kid threw the door open hard, right up against my rear rock rail step I had just installed, and a big dent was in the side of the Civic's door.

Not a scratch on my Bronco, just a little red paint I had to rub off...

Ooh don’t think I have these installed on my bronco. They are hideous. But people suck and have zero respect for other people’s stuff.

I have conditioned / trained my wife to park next to a curb spot at the far end of the Lowes lot when she goes to Stop n Shop for groceries. Why curb spot? One side is protected from dings. Sure it’s a bit of a walk but it helps with my OCD.

I bet your mustang is even more of a magnet for these door ding douches.

I actually used to have a stack of that exact same sign in my glovebox when I had a Corvette. Would leave one under the wiper when they parked right on top of me. One time I left 2 as I had to crawl over the hump and into my seat from the passenger's side. The car was parked less than a foot from my driver door.

People can be real dicks sometimes in parking lots!
