Back in people are annoying when it's clearly not necessary to back in and they block traffic to do it. I get it for 1st responders, but don't get why some back no matter what.
Because it's far safer. When you pull in forwards you then have to blindly back out in to traffic which is just plain stupid.

I've worked where you got towed if you didn't back in.

I parked far away and by myself.

I come back out 10 min later to this?!? For f**k's sake.

Edit. The whole row was trees and shade. I parked furthest away. Lots of shady spots closer to the door. 😑
Haha! I would park right next to you, too! Wouldn't it be better if they were all Broncos?! <devilish grin>

LOL! 🤣

"I feel your pain"!

I have a SIX YEAR photo log of my BMW E92 M3 where I purposefully parked in open spaces with NUMEROUS other open parking spaces available for other cars . . . only to come back out and see my M3 boxed in by various big rig pickups, vans and other random large vehicles . . . . captured in 4 states, in multiple cities, at different times of day and night from city to rural parking lots . . . and with many of these instances occurring while still showing NUMEROUS open parking spaces around me.

It actually turned into a game where no matter where this would happen I would take a picture on my phone and send to me wife in real time so I had proof. I even started taking before and after pictures because I knew what was going to happen . . . before it happened.

The BEST example I have of this "magnet phenomena" was in Salem OR where I parked leaving 5 open spaces to the right of my M3, but left one, small sized space between me and a solid concrete parking median - believing that no one would try and park in the small open space.

I'm sitting near the front window of the local Starbucks when I see a lifted Ford 250 extended cab & bed pickup backing into the small spot - with all 5 of the spaces to the left of my car still open. Before I could get out to the parking lot and confront this idiot, he was already gone - leaving me very little room to open my driver side door to get in and drive away.

Can't wait to see what my parking experiences are going to be once I get my Badlands Bronco!?

Not buying the shade tree thing. It seems like no matter how far away I
park with at least ten open spaces on either side some A holes have to park right next to me 🤬

I park next to jeeps all the time I think it's more like common ground or same interest, least how I think of it.

This exactly. Problem is many people now have no idea how to back up. Seems to be a lost skill. I made both my kids learn how to back in to every parking spot. Knowing how to back gets you out of many jams.

At least the Jeeps leave room. I found myself as the meat in a Rubicon sandwich as I came out of the bank a couple weeks ago.

My agreement/contract to get a company car allowance requires that you back in.

The statistics don't lie...

I'll still pull in head first occasionally.

I find that it is not that you are a special as you think when you find a parking companion. Pouring down rain today, parked on the far side of the home center lot for no real reason other than just not being in a hury. On my return I was paired with a Pathfinder. There were literally hundreds of open spaces closer to the store entrance. Do I think this is some sort of kismet or vindictive malice? No people just park randomly. Your not as special as you think you are. Rant over.
