Ford Bronco 2.7 Bronco gets hidden winch, Mishimoto high mount intercooler, Baja lights IMG_6595

I installed Mishimotos high mount intercooler and all offroad brands should take note from them. The install went sooo smoothly, the parts were manufactured to perfection and I’ve never seen such detailed instructions before! After that I mounted a warn zeon xd winch to Lobo offroads hidden winch mount and factor 55 ultra hook with rope guard (it’s a bit too large).

The solenoid needed to be relocated to the engine compartment. I used KR offroad air compressor bracket and drilled some holes to mount the solenoid instead.

last was to mount the lights. For the bumper I went with 4 Baja S2 mounted to a KR offroad bracket (wish Baja sold just their brackets. I already had the lights from my last truck) I needed to cut part of the bracket to fit around a bumper reinforcement I have for the Westin brush guard, but it wasn’t too difficult. The brush guard has two amber Baja LP6 lights.

I put in quick disconnects for both the brush guard and bumper lights so they could be removed without having to take off any lights or yank any wires.

I will second you on the Mishi intercooler!!! They even thought of tabs to reconnect wiring that was "passing by" the high mount. Really impressive.

My issue though is the adaptive cruise control was relocated directly behind the support column of my brush guard so it doesn’t work right now. Need to figure out a new mount for it

Mine works but it is a bit "janky" as others have referred to it... Someone did point out some relearn procedures that I am going to have to try. They did not look to be a simple process though.

Note any performance improvements from the new IC? Besides freeing up space :)

How do you access the free spool lever? I am interested in doing something similar, but can't picture how I would access the winch manually.

I have not really but I am not one to "race" around... I am not light on the throttle but I am not a racer boy anymore either. We will see this summer when things get hot. I think there were times I could sense a bit of heat soak when things got hot.

This pic with the skid plat off shows the lever on the passenger side.... you can easily reach it from the front side of the passenger tire since the winch is inverted.

quick question... how do you ensure that the winch line is on fairly evenly when it is spooled back in since it is not visible?

Actually it is visible through the fairlead.... The mount even includes a little LED light that turns on when ever I power on the winch... I can see it pretty well, the whole drum. Granted it is not as visible as a bumper mount winch... but I can see the windings just fine.

that silver thing you can see right there is the free spool lever for the warn winch. Very easy to reach in and twist

I'm about to use the Barnes 4wd bracket to relocate mine. Not because of the intercooler, but because I keep getting my lower bumper full of mud running off road rally's & I'm trying to avoid breaking it lol.
