You can't get close to it. I know of people that have been turned around at gun point in areas they should not have been. I have been at the perimeter of the nuclear testing area which is somewhat in the vicinity of area 51. Lots of warning signs posted.

What I was told by the bartender at the Little Ale'inn (a self-proclaimed authoritive source if you tip him ) was if you "touch" the fence it would be considered "attempted breaking and entering" and thus crosses the legal line and gives the justification to bring the hammer down on you.

What I can say from personal experience is that, while I did not have the balls to actually TEST that advice, I was close enough to touch the fence as well as the gate several times over the approx. 15 minutes I was pacing back and forth and peering through the fence and nobody emerged.

The gaurd shack has blacked out glass so I couldn't see inside to see who was in there or what they were doing, but I was close enought that I COULD have seen all that had it had clear glass.

And, of course, there are cameras & microphones EVERYWHERE. (you can see them follow you).

A host of other unseen sensors you can bet are also there such as IR and siezmologic. And possibly some of "alien origin" seeing God only knows what.

Hell....the guys in the gate house probably know if I've got cancer anywhere in my body right now.

You can see the pockmarks from the nuclear testing on Google Maps. The old guy who drives visitors to The City (massive landscape art craziness) had fun showing it to us when I visited last year. And he also showed us Google Maps satellite views of Area 51. Then he just waits around while you walk around The City. 3 hour drive time there & back. Crazy experience.

I've only met 3 pugs in my life, each, I have to say, smarter and friendlier than those e-wok things.
Those e-wok weirdos in their zip-up skins and bug-eyes make me uncomfortable.

It's the intro commercial of this video I can't get past to watch this... maybe I'll start to play the video, then leave the room for 30 seconds.

I always enjoyed snooping around desert areas, especially the ones we aren't supposed to be snooping around!

Wow, thanks for the heads up. Pretty sure you’re referring to Bishop Rd. a couple of miles south of Casmalia? I ride my m-cycle up there on occasion. Generally I stop in the turn-around area right b4 the gate.
