140 hp, 3 speed trans, 4000lbs...0-60 in 5-7 business days.
Sounds about right. Dad's '71 had the straight 6, and I was afraid to drive it anywhere near the posted 55. It had about a 1/4 turn of steering wheel slop, it wandered everywhere, and rode like a lumber wagon. But man, the memories....🙂

somewhere I have my window sticker for my 77 Ranger. Got it from the original owner when I bought it in ‘92. Every option but AT and AC. $6200.00.
That sounds about correct. I had one priced out in 77 for ~6.4K before the Ford discount. Decided to wait on the 78 for the bigger 2 dr. Funny but that one listed out at 5.8k for the custom trimmed version. Still manual tranny.

Modern manual transmission = anti theft for 70% of the population. 3 on the tree for the other 29.99999%. Makes me miss my 71.

… getting 10 mpg's wasn't worth impressing other dudes with the sound of your car's exhaust to me.
I don’t get much more than 10 MPG in my 2023 (when towing my overland camper). But I still impress other dudes.

The more things change…the more they stay the same.

Inflation adjusted price today would be $31,204.08
Well, a base 2dr was about that a couple years ago…

Yes, but it is not comparable. This 1973 did not even come with a radio and it had the smallest narrowest tires I have ever seen, but I am sure they were normal for the time. There was no passenger side mirror I guess that was an option skipped. no center console. No shoulder belts, no roll bar or any rollover protection. It did have a column shift 3 speed that meant the engine was really spinning some high RPMs to do freeway speed.

Some OG pizza cutters there!

Neat seeing an old window sticker like that. I assume not many people kept them.

That's awesome you have the original window sticker and the Bronco,.
Looks great by the way.
I have the original bill of sale on a 1948 D2 Caterpillar my Grandfather bought.
I've restored the D2 and drive it in parades etc.
Sticker was $2342.15, Rear PTO $75.26, Front Hydraulic pump $26.10, lights $4.18, electric start pony motor $115.25.
That was top of the line in 1948. Today you're looking at $350,000 for a top of the line Dozer.
Granted the D2 has 35 pto hp and the newer vehicles have 350 pto hp. lol

Being a computer guy and all, I'd like to take a moment to acknowledge the spooled computer paper on the Monroney Label but quality type that is not dot matrix which I would have thought would be the case but is not. So much so I zoomed in on to confirm, quality print Ford - bravo.

The LH Remote Control Mirror on that option list is the most notable. Almost impossible to find parts for those, since so few were ordered and the aftermarket does not support them.

Great trip down memory lane, but would you pay 31k for a "new" '73 Bronco vs. 38k for a new '24 Bronco if given the choice? A 270 horse engine, standard A/C, roll bar, ABS, safety gizmo's, an (awful) stereo, full seating, etc. A new Bronco (or Wrangler) is actually a pretty fair deal in comparison. I never owned an early Bronco, but had a few early CJ-5 & 7's. Lot's of fun but quite the penalty box for everyday driving.

Our Dad had a '72 with the 302 V-8 and manual 3 speed on the tree that my brother and I enjoyed driving as teens. It also had larger off road tires with white steel rims, and a matching spare mounted on the front bumper which I always thought was odd/wrong. Wish I had a photo. Thanks for posting!
