Update: I picked the Bronco up on Friday. It turns out it was not a valve cover gasket issue. The valve cover itself had a small crack, under a sticker no less, from the factory. That small crack became a large one after a couple hour road trip the previous day. Ford was great and worked with the dealer to get the part expedited and installed. They also gave me 36,000 miles of free maintenance as a way of saying thanks for the patience.
My final thoughts: Mistakes happen everywhere. It's what you do to make them right that counts and Ford made it right. I am definitely satisfied with how Ford took care of the situation.
