My 2 cents:

Sport and do not lug the engine!

2500# is nothing for this engine. Just start it and go.

Edit: It wasn't clear. Are you pulling the car out of a garage or is it stuck off road?

It depends on the surface conditions, is this sand, snow, mud, loose surface? Are you on solid pavement? If you want to use your GOAT modes choose the one that matches your conditions. If it is solid pavement the normal (or maybe sport as mentioned) is fine but go slow.

Recovery requires planning and patience. Using a tow strap means slow and steady. If things aren’t moving as you planned stop and rethink.

Match your set up to your surface conditions and then make your plan to recover.

There are lots of recovery threads and advice here as well as out on the net.

Sorry for the late reply...these are crazy rally drivers doing 90mph on windy gravel and dirt roads and when they loose it we come in and tow strap them out of the woods with broken axels, cv joints, wheels so your tugging on a dead car...most are Suburu wax stirs and ford Fiestas st...any thoughts are welcome...

If your traction is not an issue, just put it in 4 low and ease it out. If traction for you is an issue, you need as little power as possible so I would use 4 high and try not to break your tires loose. If it’s muddy, you will need tire spin, so in that case, I would probably use 4 low to keep cleaning out your tires with tire spin.

Thanks for the quick reply...last year being a heavy sweep with my 2015 Jeep 2 door Rubicon manual v-6 I would put it in 4 low with a tow strap and yank them out with little issue...my Bronco is a 2.7 auto which I haven't driven an automatic in 50 years so I was a little concerned. I will use 4 low...and thanks for the thoughts...I do like the 10 speed automatic...it's pretty incredible IMO!!!

This is the correct answer, assuming the car is stuck that you're pulling out.

I always carry enough stuff to pull someone out if I have to, but would like to never actually use it for that. Same with the fire extinguisher, hope to never actually use it.
