2025 MIC Top Question

Does anyone know if any changes have been made to the MIC top for MY2025? I ordered a Badlands with the MIC top on Friday and I'm wondering if I should switch to the painted shadow black top before it's too late to change.

When I saw the painted 2025 top on Long McArthur Ford's channel, the black painted top appeared to be a MIC top inside (same honeycomb structure inside as the MIC).

The one you saw was likely just the same old paintable Mod top that has been available.
It seems that one is still around even with the other new painted top with the white inside.

I've been trying to not use the term Mod Top even though it is universally applied to all painted tops. The only Mod Tops were the MY'23 HE/HELs and Job1 MY'24 HE/HELs with the removable windows.

Evolution of the Painted Top:

• Modular HT with removable rear windows
• version 2 painted HT - Job2 MY'24 HE/HELs
  • They no longer had the removable rear windows and had a similar interior as the Modular HT and MIC Top.
• version 3 painted HT - has the white interior

Seems like the MY'25 painted HT has both the version 2 and version 3 as they exhaust manufacturing overstock.

Got a 24 BL in Eruption Green, love the black painted top. MIC seems... troubled.

Yeah it's just easier to say Mod top to differentiate between the painted top with the black interior vs the new one with white interior lol
But it probably would be less confusing if we stopped saying Mod top, since they aren't really modular anymore.

It's ingrained after 4 years. I still will often just lump all painted tops as a "mod top". But as you mentioned, there is nothing modular about it.

But the different interior that some have mentioned just seems like the manufacturing backlog of inventory is showing up in MY'25.

The latest painted hardtop with the white interior is totally different and superior.

All four of my panels on my 2024 MIC have been or will be replaced by ford. Came with tons of blemishes. Waiting on the last two panels.

4 door top is on its 3rd version,
2 door top is on its second.

What was changed, because I see no difference, it was a manufacturing issue, not a design flaw?

Ford doesn’t give out that information. But they wouldn’t change the part number if nothing changed
