Hey everyone. I'd been looking for a while for a solution to hauling around a 30lbs propane tank. I had to kind of think outside the box here and this is what I came up with.

PARTS:

1 - Built Right Molle panel https://builtrightind.com/products/...nel-system-ford-bronco?variant=46279917568214
2 - Ace Manufacturing 30lbs propane tank bracket https://utsparts.com/products/metal...f3nDoNuAMLVjugf7F4o4oUdyp5EyPzIvkSX1zeDRZlvZw

Let's start off with the propane tank beside the panel. Needed to see where it would line up best.

After that we had to get creative with the mounting hardware as it lines up almost perfect however it's best if you have some spaces and washers etc.. The side are pinned against each other oppositely so they really can't move.

The Built Right Molle panel allows this tank to hover just slightly above the cargo liner bump out for a near perfect fit.

Finally we have the finished product.

The fit and placement is perfect while being extremely sturdy. Perfect solution for what I was looking for.

Although I love your ingenuity consider this:A 30 lb propane cylinder can typically withstand temperatures up to about 120°F (49°C) without risk of failure. However, it's important to keep it in a well-ventilated area and avoid exposing it to direct sunlight or high heat to ensure safety. On hot days I would not leave in Bronco. It can easily reach 120° or more and I don't want to read about in the obituary.

Thanks for the heads up! My personal use case for this is simply to transport my propane tank from my back yard fire pit to the gas station to get it filled and then back at home. It's a 10 minute drive to the gas station by myself (no kids), it gets filled, and then back home to the fire pit. I wouldn't take this on camping trips or transport it for more than an hour or so at a time. I couldn't stand using straps to hold this down as it didn't feel as safe.

Thanks for looking out, if I was using this normally as a transportation unit your advice would have been critical, and still is critical for any on lookers.

I love my propane fire pit.
I use the milk crates, it work fantastic with room to help snug it in with other stuff, so milk crate to molle with cut to fit strap, than strap through the top tank holes. The longest trip 1.5 hours door to campsite. That time my air-conditioner friend brought his leak detector. No leaks.

But I totally agree short trips Cool weather. Here in AZ summer that would be news a 6pm.
