Hey all this talk and nothing about the base model? (LOL).
Seriously though, I was hoping to squeeze some 285/75 R16 on the stock steel wheels (16x7) and upgrade the wheels to something 16x8 later when I find a smoking deal on them.
Based on these calcs (and that the Big Bend/OBX look to have the same suspension/lift/etc.) would they fit?

EXCELLENT!!!! HUGE THANKS TO LEGEND.

So this image was almost spot on -

FOR EVERYONE'S BENEFIT:
The steely BD tires are 10.4" wide, and the OBX tires are 10.0" wide. We have confirmed 55 offset for the steelies, and 1" gap from upper control arm. That means OBX has 1.2" gap, if that wheel is also a 55 offset like the rest of the Ranger 7.5" wide wheels. This also makes sense because that means the sasquatch would have 0.6-7" clearances from the upper control arms (which ties to the photo of the sasquatch suspension that everyone is freaking out about - it looks to be between 0.5-1").

That means an OBX with a 275/70/R18 (10.8" wide, 33.2" tall) tire would safely be 0.8" from the control arm. Heck, you may even be able to go a bit bigger. Although, I would start to be a little concerned about rubbing on the front bumper. Steel bumper on the OBX looks to give you slightly more clearance BTW.

This feels good. Nailed it at 1" extra clearance, and nailed the 4mm extra lift from BL to SAS that Ford confirmed.
Dumb question - does going to a 17" rim on OBX make a difference? I am thinking about getting OBX and switching wheels/tires so I can get 17" rims and 33" tires instead of the Sasquatch package. The wheels/tires measurement thing is confusing to me.

I think the bar behind the wheel is most important. Curious if you could simply remove it since there looks to be a bolt there.

UPDATE - To skip all the hypothesizing and technicals go straight to page 6 where we confirmed clearance, backspace and offset on a Black Diamond

Every dimension here is from Ford or the tire manufacturer, I’m able to back into the rest given the track, overall width etc. Big focus here is the depth of the tire, not the width. The only number made up was the clearance behind the wheel but that’s just a baseline. And the wheel gap was also a baseline based on the second drawing I did a couple weeks ago (which actually checked out later when Ford said the Badlands lift was 10 mills less the Sasquatch = 0.4” per my estimation).

Enjoy.

Looks like a 275/70/R18 is the money size tire for an OBX. And it’s 33.2” so almost half an inch bigger than 32.7” badlands but 0.4” narrower. I chose this tire to safely get to the same Sasquatch wheel gap and Sasquatch clearance behind wheel. Are all numbers exact, no? But it’s all RELEVANT. If the clearances match that on the Sasquatch that it means it’s totally safe.

I’m sure you could go even bigger, but this tire size seems to be best to match Ford factory clearances on the Sasquatch.

Wat I want to know does this tell me if 37s will fit my BL w/Sasquatch. Without another lift

So will 33s fit on blackdiamonds?
If Legend comes back with the crash bar measurement we will know one way or the other. As of now it looks like up to 285/75s will fit BUT crash bars are involved.
