Another change to 275 tires on an OBX - I went with 275/65/18 Falken Wildpeaks to avoid E rated tires. These are SL and the ride is great.

Why would one want to avoid E rated tires?

I found a set of badlands wheels for less than I could buy 5 tires so these are 285/70/17 on the OBX. I don’t mind it but think a level/lift would make it look a touch nicer. I really need to get the windows tinted as well. I agree The stock rims and the 275/70’s look good.

I’m definitely not a tire expert but what I read here is that in general E rated tires are a more rugged, stiffer and heavier tire which is helpful if you are towing or off roading but have a rougher and louder ride and lower MPG on the road - where I do most of my driving.

There is plenty of debate (just search this forum for comments going back and forth) but E rated tires are heavier, thicker and meant to handle heavy loads. Some like that for durability off-road (sharp rocks) but the weight and stiffness are likely to impact ride quality, noise and fuel economy.

Here's what my fuel averages are looking like these days.
I keep it In eco mode but I use the turbo boost module to speed up the throttle response.

Thanks for the education. 👍🏻

I went with BFG KO2 275/70r18 on my OBX stock wheels. Had them installed at the dealer prior to picking it up. They kept the tire pressure sensors, balanced, aligned, and recalibrated the speedometer. 33s instead of the stock 32s. No lift and crash bars in place. Rides great and I think looks great.

Loving the looks of the beefier/wider tires & powder coated OBX wheels!

Is it just me, but would black fenders look better too vs. the body color fenders?

Thanks! I like the body colored fender flairs compared to the black plastic. One of the reasons I went with OBX.

I put Nitto Terra Grappler 275 70r18's on. I think l might go with Recon Grapplers for a more aggressive look next time but until then the Terra's are waaaay better then stock.
