Think I'll just remove it completely... never was a fan of a third brake light

Give me a break. Find that verbiage in your PA laws. The guy was referencing CA laws which in every aspect is a whole different world.so not legal. What I suspected.
And, for that matter, not safe.
Well if OP gets rear ended in the future, we'll know why the law exists!
What are you reading that I am missing? 34 inches off ground is only requirement (except passenger cars, which can be lower…).
I’m Not sure if it’s as visible from more than 45 degrees to the sides, but it’s legal and probably just as safe for 99.9% of rear ending situations.
Actually I'm not. I can't stand drivers with dark tinted front windows. You can't see the other drivers and body language sometimes helps when at stop lights, stop signs, intersections, etc... But when you can't see them I have no idea who is waving who on. It's like looking into an empty soul. Pure darkness.I take it you’re not a fan of those of us who drive with darker tint on our windows than whats legal too?
I don't like you tube either, but I sure do watch it for just about everything I don't know how to do!Seems weird that you don't want to watch yet expect someone else to get the info for you. I mean the guy did the install to show and help uds all. If you click on it in the thread there are no advertisements to waste your preciouse time. I will answer your question though..... It looks fine. It looks like your typical jeep install and it was a good video.
i saw this the other day when u posted on youtube brother. great easy to follow video and helped me make the jump to order. gotta fit my 37's on there. hahahaI didn’t like the location of the stock 3rd brake lamp & I wanted to make room for larger tires. There’s not many options out currently & the ones that are available just don’t look great. I purchased this kit from Amazon that was made for a Jeep Wrangler but made it work on the Bronco. Needless to say I’m pretty happy with the results & the new look. Let me know what you guys think.
My tailgate reinforcement came in today so i finally got around to doing the 3rd brake light install while i did the tailgate reinforcement. Thanks for the video help and here’s my pic of the finished productI didn’t like the location of the stock 3rd brake lamp & I wanted to make room for larger tires. I highly doubt it qualifies as an illegal set up in any state. Most states don't have a height requirement for the third brake light, just has to be in the center and working... Including your state of PA. And those that do, it's mounted plenty high enough to make it legal.
Plus if he is ever rear ended, he'll lose any insurance battles since it's an illegal setup.
But again, to reach their own.
I'm pretty sure I did say it wasn't my thing. If it's not your thing, either just say that or nothing.
Look to each their own. Dude wants to ride around without a higher stop lamp. By all means. Will anything ever happen to him? Likely not. (Hopefully not) But there's a reason it was made a law and a safety requirement.
Unless it was big stop lamp. Probably got to the government, weren't making enough money with only 2 stop lamps. Few handshakes, a couple free stop lamps and boom. Required on all vehicles, but provides no safely at all! Damn big stop lamp, laughing all the way to the bank.
