The lack of transparency is what kills me. Take a moment to think about how much crap Ford dealers have received on this forum because they don't communicate or aren't transparent with the order process. No one defends the dealer, and Ford shouldn't be exempt to criticism for how they are handling this.

Most of you know that I am a dealer, and I can't imagine treating a customer this way. Transparency and communication are the easiest ways to gain trust, and in an industry where pricing is almost the same, that is how you separate yourself from the rest.

I am sure that I speak for most of us when I say, that if Ford were to come out today and officially tell us why our orders are delayed and present a plan for how they will resolve the issue, we would be happy to wait for our Broncos. A few days, a week, or a month, it doesn't matter, just as long as we understand what's happening.

Our demo Bronco is here at our store, and it is great to be able to see it and have our order holders drive it, but trying to explain this order process is getting to a point where I can no longer confidently say how things will unfold. Even if your order is pulled, scheduled, bucked, sent to plant, and produced, there is still no clear and effective way to say "Hey, your bronco will be here (Insert week)".

I hope that Ford fixes its production issues, and works to improve its communication with customers, but it is too early to tell. I have so much respect for Ford, and I couldn't be happier with how they brought the Bronco back, but at some point they can't keep relying on hype to mask mistakes. Someone within Ford needs to take a step back and realize that this is being run poorly, and work to improve the order process.

That is all I have for today, and I apologize for the long-winded post, but tomorrow is another day for things to turn around for us.
This was incredibly well said and I appreciate your input as a dealer. Conversely though, they announced on their earnings yesterday that they see the process of build to order going so well they are going to move mostly in that direction from now on and move away from stocking dealer lots. So your point about how they should step back and look at how this is gone is totally lost on them. They are doubling down on this process.

I appreciate the kind words. I don't think the order process is flawed, I think that the way they are executing it is. It sounds amazing on paper, I get to follow the vehicle through the entire order and build process?! I don't have to bug my dealer for updates?! I will know info about my delivery as soon as it is available?! It all sounds amazing (in theory). You can't make a plan, sell the plan, and then forget how it works. . . .

Right, it only works though if the tracker is updated and communication is ongoing, which is the failure here. To your first point, if they sent me an update, I'd calm down for a while.

I get the MIC stop ship but why are the soft tops also not shipping? There are many soft tops that were built over two weeks ago and no movement on shipping or built status. The challenge seems to be more than just MIC.

I went through the same hassle with my wife's Focus RS and it wasn't fun. While I greatly appreciate the information you're providing the problem is we shouldn't have to rely on you. Ford should be able to articulate a plan for impacted builds and communicate it through the official channels instead of leaving everyone in the dark to speculate. Some parts of the car manufacturing process, in this case communication, are so antiquated. It's like Ford is thinking they're saving face and protecting the Bronco image by not being transparent but in reality they're looking like a bunch of clowns.
Amen. That is and has been my exact point; Ford's lack of communication is making this whole thing worse. They originally set an expectation that is far off the rails now and they do not have the intestinal fortitude to communicate what the new expectation should be. It's disgraceful by any measure of customer experience.

Yep!

But I haven’t seen anyone announce they’ve been paroled!
It’s crazy, not one of us has been released, I haven’t checked the 7/13 or 7/19 threads, has anyone over there gotten moved?

Just saw this on FB, chip shortages would explain the delays regardless of features, package etc. Sounds like there may be improvement coming. The question was “why is my Bronco still in production since June?”

Crazy, the GM at my dealership swore it wasn’t a chip issue.
Honestly I wish it were a chip issue, really wish ford would just say that too…
