We joined the Trail Militia crew for a fun day on the trail along with a bunch of people from the SDBroncos group last weekend. We had drivers of all skill levels, and vehicles of varying levels of build as well, but thanks to some great spotting from our trail leader everyone made it to camp with no trail repairs needed along the way. A portion of the group spent the night out under the stars while others had to head home for the night.

We also gave away a bunch of SFR swag during the lunch break. Always a good time wheeling with local Bronco owners!

Very cool! I wanted to go on this, but had a household full of sick people and I'm currently at the dealer with a non-functional transfer case, so kind of glad I stayed home.

Was so looking forward to doing this and had to miss it. Bummed, but maybe next year.

Is most of the video on the south-west branch of the Nopal Loop? I remember the north-east leg being much more tame.

By the way, this recovery is from there

I'm hoping it's not another year before we get out there again. It was a really fun trail with some decent challenges for the new drivers, but nothing big enough to cause serious damage. I don't think anyone hurt anything.

This was the first time I did the trail so I'm not super familiar with it, but we started along the border fence near the solar fields and headed uphill from there. The exit road on the way out from where everyone made camp was narrow, but somewhat paved for a good amount of it.

Yes, the leg by the solar panels is the southwest one that looks to be more challenging than the northeast - which as you said is partially paved for half the uphill climb. This is how I went up when I did this solo circa 2020 and it was fairly tame.

The screenshot below is from my caltopo of the area. The dashed line is the trail where you went up. The solid line of they initial loop is where you came back. The red dot is the camping area.

As the MORR video showed, one has to be careful with tire placement.
