AC not working

the system was re-pressurized w/ dye and the dripping condensate was observed to be tinged w/ dye.

they removed the entire dash at that point and found the cracked evaporator.

the repair seems successful although selecting the foot vents still results in strong flow out of the window side vents instead of at the feet

the SA also mentioned mine was the third bronco they've replaced a cracked evaporator on under warranty. (they've also replaced 5 on recent rangers)

Yeah all Broncos do that - a failure by engineering in programming the damper positioning - nothing to do with the AC itself. I guess they really don't want those side windows to fog up and have no faith that people could.. I dunno... use the defrost or Window settings on their HVAC if they do?

If you select Floor + Dash Vents, you can manually close off the dash vents and get more flow to the floor without anything going through the non-adjustable A-pillar vent. It's still not great, but better than 85% of the air going out the A-pillar vent.

Just had to take mine in due to no cold air blowing. Checked Forscan and didn't throw a code, but the compressor wasn't kicking in when looking at the PID. Dealership found it was a
A/C Refrigerant Discharge Hose (MB3Z-19D734-H) that rubbed against the frame, wore a hole in it, and released all the refrigerant. Nice engineering Ford. $1,900 later and one week in 85F weather with no AC.
