Hi anyone ever have this problem I can’t put it back without pieces flying off

Must take whole unit out and put in from backside - sort of. The body comes apart and the vents go in. This is based on dealing with this in multiple brands of cars. Patience is the key, but again, must get the main body out. -R

I will admit to not watching the video, but I replaced my Base (gray) tabs with orange ones. I was able to get a curved pick underneath the tabs to get them to release from the vent without removing anything else. The new ones clipped solidly into place with no slop.
Interesting. Take a look at the video-it’s short. Maybe the vent design changed since the video clearly advises that the colored tabs only disengage from the back.

Here you can see the small tabs, two each top and bottom of the tab. All you have to do is carefully open up the tab and pull it towards you. Hope this makes someone's life easier!

The video way is so you don't do any damage to the tabs when you remove them. I've seen some pretty beaten tabs on here, it's like people used a hammer to remove them
