Good morning! I have added a Kicker Key 500.1 to my buddy's Bronco and am not getting the output I am looking for from the amplifier. I am wondering if I have the wiring wrong. I grabbed Hi signal from the harness leads that went to the stock B&O subwoofer, wiring purple as negative/yellow positive, and then black negative/green positive. I have attempted the gain match sweep maybe 50x and cannot for the life of me get good output. There is output but it is minimal.

I have the settings on the head unit on stereo, all tone controls reset, speed control off. I have played the gain match sweep through carplay and bluetooth, all three versions.

Has any one had an issue setting up the kicker key that can assist? I'm not sure what I am missing. I have searched and searched and it seems like everything I have done is correct. I am going to recheck my connections tomorrow morning and see if the wire taps are not making a good connection.

Thanks for any help.

Check the DIP switch setup on the kicker.

I have the button pushed in for hi input if that is what you are referencing.

I don’t think the stock sub output is full signal. You may want to try a different source. I think plug-and-play kits grabs the front door woofer for full signal.

That’s what I don’t understand, as plenty of people in that 50pg full install have said they have used it.

When you say front door, do you mean dash or kick panel?

So I checked the harness going to the amplifier, and I have voltage present on the purple and black wires, no voltage at the green and yellow.

1. Isn't this backwards?
2. Could this be the reason the key isn't setting the gain appropriately?

Maybe you should be using the OEM amp outputs, the wires going to the driver. Make sure polarity is right for each channel going into the Key high level inputs.

Appreciate it! That is what I did though, used the harness from inside the subwoofer enclosure, per the diagram drawn on, showing the matching colors.

I am going to try switching between the hi/low level tomorrow (should be hi level, pushed in but at this point I will try anything), and if that doesn't work, switching the wires, as I am at a loss at this point other than these two things.

For any one needing who came upon this, i put it on LOW level and redid gain match/key sweep, and functioning as it should. Not sure why the button wouldn’t be pressed in for hi level since on the amplified side of the b&o amp, but it is what it is.

thanks everyone for trying to help!
