460 fit a front camera worked into the radio? Yuck. Plus taking apart the dash, wiring it up, and hoping you put it all back together right? 🤮 I need y’alls wages and time to do this stuff 🤣🤣

Yeah, I am too much of a p***y to attempt something like this. Ordered a bunch of cameras from Amazon (Natika, AutoVox CAM7 pro, and a Pixelman camera) - all of them have 170-180 degree FOV, but the AutoVox claims much better fisheye correction of the image. Also ordered two 5-inch monitors - Padarsey and Chuanganzhuo. Will try them all, wire whichever one I like to AUX6 and call it a day. I currently have a wired license plate camera which works well enough for things immedaitely in front of the bumper but is pretty narrow FOV.

Posting to get updates, looking to add OEM trail cam w/ lines, hoping someone is able to accomplish this at some point. Not worried about the effort needed

I successfully used the Naviks. Bit of final drama, but all worked out. I have a modular bumper and bull bar, so almost half the field is covered. However, it gives me the view I wanted for off-roading. I’ve not had it off road yet, so may adjust after.

Disassembly is tedious, and be careful of the airbag. The video I followed was quite helpful.

I also did the Naviks. The install video really makes it go smoothly but it takes a while. End result: I have a front camera that integrates into my 8” screen - lots of fisheye (not as annoying as I anticipated tho) but wheeling with it is kinda different. The camera flattens out everything. While it is helpful it isn’t what I was hoping for. It’s still nice to see the trail when you’re coming over a steep hill and can’t see anything but hood or sky. I may try another camera (I just used what Naviks recommended) It’s awesome for parking lots

I recall someone posting a detailed description of the wiring for the side mirrors cameras. Can someone point me to it? I added a front facing camera (AutoVOX, much much better than Natika) and wired it to a $50 additional monitor. The monitor has dual RCA inputs. Was thinking of wiring everything to it rather than tearing into the dash.

What about a combo of this display and this camera? Just unplug the AV cable and power when not in use. Mount to to the dash with a VESA mount bracket or the hot shoe mount on the bottom like most camera mounts for the dash on the Bronco. Or something like this?

Based on the recommendations in this thread, I installed this Naviks interface after confirming with their customer service it was all I would need to install a front camera with my 8" screen: https://naviks.com/i-24077342-2021-...ass-video-interface.html?ref=category:1137501

I wired up this Natika camera on my Heritage grill between the "O" and "R"

Camera works like it came stock. Turns on for 8 seconds when I put the car in drive and I can press the menu button on the steering wheel for 5 seconds anytime to bring it up.

how did you mount the camera to the grill? screws? 3m? I'm looking to do something similar and trying to figure out how to add the camera without it eventually falling off

The camera I got has a mounting screw, I drilled a hole in the grille inserted it from the bottom and threaded a nut on the other side. If I remember correctly, the wires you use determines the video feed rotation. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07H852D49/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1

appreciate the info. seems like my grill is a little different than yours. I'll have to think it something

That is kind of close up to tell, but I also have the heritage grill. You can just find a spot that works for you and stick your camera with 3M tape if you don't want to drill a hole.

Seems like you're doesn't have the two plastic horizontal bars that line up with the O and R letters, is what I was referring to about them being slightly different :)

OH, I see what you mean. You're right, that's because I cut them to make room for the camera. Only you can decide what modifications you're comfortable making.

Question,

When you have the front camera on the screen, does it stop audio from playing?
