Has anyone used the kit with a tailgate reinforcement? Did you have any issues? Need longer bolts or any adjustments?
I just met someone, @JetMech, last weekend that had installed both the Hammerbuilt reinforcement and the AGS kit. This is the same setup I'll be attempting. I believe they did indicate some longer bolts were needed to go through both pieces. Maybe they can add some details.

Exactly my plan assuming AGS’ reinforcement isn’t immediately around the corner. Taking my next trip in three weeks and need to get this done before then. Would be great if we get some info from Jet! 👍

Can anyone that's used the Expedition Essentials wire harness extension ELI5 what all needs to be done with the harness to hook it up to my aux switches? i.e. What has to be extended? Do I need to splice in fuses? etc? Thank you!

https://expeditionessentials.com/products/bedside-compressor-mount-extension-harness
Okay, it took a few re-reads of the AGS post on the wiring, but after looking at some pics of the contents of the compressor, I think I got it. I had not realized the compressor came with a harness. So AGS ran the ARB harness from the battery through the grommet and to just beyond the B pillar. They connected to the EE extension harness from there, crossed behind the back seats and then down to the back of the truck and into the tailgate. This is where they popped off the connectors in the video to pass through their grommet.

I guess my last question is where did you guys tie into the aux switches? Did you connect at the back of the truck wiring point?

I tied into the aux switch under the hood.

The one at the front grill? If so, I used that one for my winch. I used B1 for my GMRS and need to save B2/D combo for light bar, which means I can’t hook up at the back bc I’d need the B2/E combo and can’t give up B2. I guess I’ll just run it with the rest of the wires through the grommet and tap in directly to the distribution block.

Maybe it's a 2021 thing but I've found that image to be misleading. My A1-6 are just capped wires that come off the harness at the firewall by the driver's side corner of the engine compartment.

I tied into A2 for my ARB if memory serves.

That’s how it is for all of us with aux switches. But there are two sets of capped wires at the driver corner of the engine bay. The wires coming from the fuse box side are running through the fuse box and then to the switches. So you can connect accessories right there (which is what I think I’ll have to do). The fused wires are A1-A6.

The wires that are going though the vehicle on the diagram come out at the firewall and are not yet attached to the fuse box. The idea is if you attached a winch or lights etc at the bumper “C” wire you would then have to connect that accessory wire to one of the A1-A6 switches wires. So basically whichever of the pre-routed colored “lettered” wires you attached the accessory to, you find that color wire at the firewall and then connect it to the A1-A6 wire at the fuse box which corresponds to the 1-6 switch in the cabin.

But as you can see from the diagram, in some instances like with the “E” or “D” wires, they require either junctioning with B1 or B2 behind the dash and then connecting B1/B2 to A1-A6 at the fuse box, or running your own extension from “E” or “D”’s termination point behind the glove box.

It’s not perfect but they did us a huge favor that can be taken advantage of in many use cases. But I do wish they had of terminated “E/F” at the firewall so we wouldn’t have to sacrifice the glove box connection points.

Yeah. I love the aux switches and wires. It’s so nice to just wire a thing up and then tie in without having to worry about going through the firewall and mounting a switch. In the FJ, they had a great place to mount switches but it wasn’t super easy to get them in there.

in prior cars, I’d mount my own but it was cheesy…except in my Baja—somehow the makeshiftness of the entire DIY dash looked awesome with marine switches and dymo labels :)

I have that setup and love it but didn't do the install myself. Recommendation- have the on-off switch connect to one of your dash switches vs the trunk- you don't need to open the hood but we still need to turn on the Bronco so might as well put the switch there to avoid having to open the hatch.

Can anyone that used the Expedition Essentials wiring harness extension confirm if female or male connector side will face the rear of the vehicle? i.e. which side goes out the tailgate?

I don’t have my compressor yet, but want to go ahead and run the harness when I’m installing my tailgate table tonight so I don’t have to do it twice.

Also, did anyone find any install videos showing the routing in the back or how to pull up those panels?

Thanks. I did see that. But just was curious if there was a guide or any guidance to getting those plastic covers off without breaking them.
Yeah. Those are very annoying and I did break a couple on the rear, passenger side there.
