So after about a 30 min hold I finally got on with Ford CS, and got nowhere once again. They are “chatting” with someone about the question and keep getting told there’s a “process” for the airbags the dealer must follow. No shit there’s a process! What is that process is what I want to know, and where do we stand on that process so I can know when they’ll make this right?!?! That is the key question they either can’t or won’t answer. They always kick it back to the dealer, as if they’re the ones who fucked up somehow, and as if they somehow have more info on this than @Ford Motor Company itself! This is beyond asinine at this point. So I’m texting my dealer to ask them what the number for “production” is, and maybe I’ll get it, though I doubt it. This is just the biggest load of horse shit ever! I cannot understand how there’s apparently no one at a billion dollar company capable of giving a straight damn answer.

Just delivered today with airbag recall, already know what the outcome will be so I’m preparing myself for a public freak out in front of everyone at the dealer. Just hope the cops don’t show up.

Apparently there could be 553 of us affected.
Does the recall definitely show up on the Ford Account page when you log in and select "Recalls"... or can we not assume that even if that says no recalls... that could still be affected?

@BossBronco signed release or not, pleading or paying,.. they will not release the truck 😡

@Missy_Fussy I’m not sure about that specifically but you can go to this link with your vin and look to see if your bronco is affected:

Your best bet for info is the NHTSB website. They are the ones who handle/approve the recall program before Ford can take action on it. Someone posted the case link sometime last week and it was still “under review”. Government entities are not in a hurry. Ever.

So true about government entities. I get that an official recall was put in place, but really, why does the NHTSB need to approve anything? It’s an airbag replacement, plain and simple. The unit is pulled and a new one put into place, no different that one being placed during the build process.

Okay, so one more update. I went to the NHTSA website directly and downloaded both the advance notice memo from Ford and the Recall Report and it says clearly that letters/notice was to begin 11/15 and complete by 11/19. There’s also a number to call the NHTSA, which I did, and they flat out told me that the entire reason for the delay was…wait for it…”product not available for repair”. Are you kidding me?!?!? How many Broncos have been built since ours were? Thousands? Each of those with airbags placed inside them. That means that this delay on this recall has nothing to do with govt bureaucracy dragging it’s feet, it’s Ford purposely neglecting the affected units in the name of maintaining the current production line rollouts. If it was the govt causing the delay, then fine, because bureaucratic wheels turn slow, but that doesn’t appear to be the case here at all.

Heads Up: Long post follows:

So another update, this one more infuriating than the last, but also essentially full confirmation that @Ford Motor Company is choosing to prioritize current/future Bronco builds in the allocation of airbags for production rather than fix those Broncos with the faulty airbags. I’ve literally had to play detective to get any info, which is both sad and inexcusable, because @Ford Motor Company should be openly communicating with us on this.

So I began looking at the NHTSA documents and noticed that their contact was a Mrs. Magruder and that it had her contact info at the administration. On a long-shot I decided to email her, and believe it or not I actually received a direct reply within 5 mins of sending it. Yes, I actually received an immediate reply from a federal govt agency with more faster, and with more info, than @Ford Motor Company has been willing to share with us. Here is her direct reply:

“Ford Motors sent out interim owner notification letters on November 15, 2021 and stated that the parts are not available. Due to Covid, many manufacturers are having a hard time manufacturing parts. I’m sure that the parts will be available in the near future. NHTSA does not produce products for the remedy or control how fast the remedy is available. Ford has to do that and they are working on the part for the remedy.

Thank you.

Best Regards,

DeMara Magruder
Safety Recall Specialist
Office of Defects Investigation (ODI)
Recall Management Division
West Building, Room 43-490
202-366-8538”

So what does her comment tell us? first, I have yet to receive this letter that was supposedly sent out. Second, it confirms @Ford Motor Company is directly and purposely fucking over customers with waiting for units with an airbag recall! @Ford Motor Companyos seriously still trying to run with the Covid excuse on this, as they have with everything else? We accept that Covid has caused issues to be sure, but this excuse doesn’t not fly when they have produced hundreds, or thousands, of Broncos after our were mothballed with the recall. So yes, the part absolutely exists, the remedy is known and ready, it’s just @Ford Motor Company doing what they do best here. I have never witnessed such a piss-poor excuse for a company or how they handle customers, especially when this issue is compounded with every other way that they’ve screwed Bronco reservation/orders over for the get-go. There has to be someone we can go to, or speak with, to force movement on this issue. Maybe one of the publications or media outlets which covers @Ford Motor Company? I don’t know, I’m exhausted from waiting and having to do all this leg work, so if anyone has some ideas I’d love to hear them.

Called customer service. Didn't think that would have any effect, but only to add to the 'official' complaints. I don't think there's anything else to do or know, except to wait. 😡

No reply from @mrlevine, either. 🤷‍♂️

Well I responded the the Ford motor company agent on this site. Was pretty pumped when they started asking for my VIN, dealer, details etc. Thought maybe I might get some traction. Low and behold got a call today from a very nice lady who proceeded to explain the supply chain, chips for cars, covid etc.

I explained the above post and that the problem was that ford was not sending airbags. She said there are no airbags and they were not sure when there would be because you know "covid". Long story short this whole endeavor was not helpful.

The most amusing thing was that I relayed this to the ford motor company on here , and started out by saying thank you for trying to help.

I recieved a message 2 seconds later that must be the bot on the other end saying we are so glad we could help. What??? There was no help. Pretty sure its not a human on the other end of that account....

I’m at a loss for words at this point. How long can they possibly “sit” on this!?

I know they’re reading from a script, but when being called out for a bald-faced lie you’d think they say “okay, you’re right, got us”. I mean, to sit there and say “supply chain, Covid, no airbags” when we know they’ve built thousands since is just unbelievable. The problem is that we’re only 553 people, therefore easy to ignore, and @Ford Motor Company are greedy fucks who want to prioritize finishing their MY21 run first rather than do what’s right.

Start, or keep trolling Mike Levine, Jim Farley, and @Ford Motor Company every chance you can on social, especially Twitter. Every post they make i reply asking about our Bronco’s with airbag recalls. And to anyone else who might fee the need to chime in here about trolling, or being rude, etc. is why we don’t “deserve” any help, that’s just bullshit. We don’t need to “deserve” their help or play nice. We’ve been patient and played nice far too long and that’s gotten us nowhere, so I say flame their asses on social media every chance we get. I wish there was some way to get another media outlet to cover it, because then they might feel some heat and get a move on.
