Alternator relocation

I just called IAG to get an update on when they are going to release the alternator relocator kit... and they said they stopped the project because there was a patent pending. I asked if Ford was the one who applied for the patent and she didn't know.

Our plan wasn't to necessarily relocate the alternator. We were looking at sealing the important internal components. I believe it was Bosch that holds numerous patents around an idea like that.

I was gun-shy after my first alternator took a dump in a nasty mudhole... I have hit multiple after that were just as bad, if not worse (first one after the incident made me pucker up a little)

The updated shielding seems to have fixed my issues, but im going to keep a spare onhand for $275 off rockauto.. plus a few belts to ease removal

I really cannot understand not making a new bracket to relocate this. It sounds like a money printing idea to me but I'm no expert.

There's really no good place to move it. Have you looked under the hood? Try and move it higher and its in the way of 10 other things.

Id wager someone could copy jeep on the 3.6l alternator orientation looks pretty clear except for some hoses and pipes to me but like I said I'm no expert.

Just Flex Seal your entire alternator to keep water out. Seems like a simple solution...

It's like those guys that add multi-stage giant turbos and have no where to put them so they just slap them on the hood.
