Another B&O upgraded system

Finished up my B&O update!
Thankful for those before me who provided insight and instructions on how to do it.

I did the Focal ACX 100’s for the 3 in the front dash.
I skipped the kickpanel speakers.
I then swapped out the rear pods for the SSV pods and used Focal ACX 165’s back there.
Then went with the Stinger tailgate sub and an alpine amp.
I made my own amp plate and made a harness for the sub and alpine amp using the connector off the factory B&O sub.

So far, very happy with how it has turned out.
All in was about $1350.

No, I removed the factory B&O sub and put in the Stinger tailgate subwoofer.
The alpine amp is where the factory B&O sub was.

Do you have more sound coming from the back? those b&o pod speakers do nothing as far as I am aware. I’m not looking for blow me away sound, but I would like to *hear* the speakers behind me

I didn’t replace the front panel kick speakers.
And the B&O amp still powers all the speakers.

So I ordered a HDPE plate but it was delayed shipping so I decided to just make one so I could get this project done.

It’s made from 1/4” mdf and is mounted at 4 points. The top 2 factory bolts and then using 2 L brackets on the bottom. I modified the bend on the L brackets to get the angle right and then drilled new holes in them to like up with the factory studs on the fender.

I removed the factory sub and laid it on the piece of mdf and traced it the best I could.
Cut the first piece out and then put it in the bronco and made some adjustments and cut another piece of mdf. That one worked perfect and is what I used . I may make another using Hdpe with the template I have now.

That is the upgrade I’m looking for.

I upgraded my pods to the mabbet 6.5 ones and csc65 in there and I can tell the difference. I hear them much more than before with the stock B&O pods.

It’s 6.1” deep.
Sticks out about the same as the hump on the tailgate.

Sorry if this seems like a dumb question but is the speakers louder after being swapped out? I am hard of hearing I guess and I am looking at upgrading my audio. I like what you did but I would skip the sub and the amp I think.

Yes but hard to say how much so.
Look at the efficiency rating of the speakers you are considering. The higher the efficiency, the louder they will play at the same volume compared to lower efficiency speakers.

Awesome…thanks for the education. Pretty open about the speaker but I do thank you for teaching me something…and what you said makes perfect sense.
