Another Broken windshield...

Well Looks like i will be having to go to my 3rd. windshield since purchasing my bronco I'm really hoping Gorilla glass or another aftermarket company comes out with a thicker glass replacement it just seems these are too thin for having such a vertical placement and after the second replacement and trust me i was being very aware of not trying to tailgate on the highways and definitely not following semi's very close and a small chip still got me this time and turned into a big crack i didn't even hear this one hit. Oh well also maybe @Ford Motor Company will come out with a solution as well....one can only hope as i cant keep affording a $1000 replacement windshield.

Have you not added the full glass coverage to your policy yet? Think I paid $60 for the year with no deductible. Already used it once.

It’s not the thickness - it’s the angle of deflection.

I added the Ford Hood deflector in the first few days after we got out 2 dr. Not so much as a chip in our windshield (3500+ miles) and that's interstate / highway trips, back roads etc.

I wonder if it makes enough difference with airflow that it helps with this or is it complete coincidence?

I have Erie insurance and it was only like $50 a year to add full comp coverage for OEM windshield replacement w/ zero deductible. I'm guessing BECAUSE I did that - I'll never need it. Isn't that how it goes?

Try a clear film on the outside of your windshield. I did and it helps.

Im still considering adding the hood deflector tbh idk we will see haha if i keep going through windshields that may be some cheaper insurance also need to look at some different insurance coverage and see if i can get something for the windshield with a low deductible

the Aeroskin II clearly makes a difference, maybe won't save us 100% of the time, but at speed it must create a nice air pressure barrier............
