I'm currently at Tidwell and I'm going to forward this stuff to my contact again to verify. Originally he told me they wanted to be "in the $1000 under invoice game" but that doesn't mean it wasn't just blowing smoke. I will gladly change dealerships because I loathe the idea of even going to one.

I worked with Tidwell before on my wifes Expedition and they were great. Unfortunately the commercial manager there told me flat no they do not plan on doing anything like that.

Great looking Pooch!
Here is my GSD. I just updated my Bronco Nation Profile picture to this. He's a good boy but a bit tricky as well. You can see it in his eyes in this shot!

When factoring in savings included with options discounts, isnā€™t Granger still the one?
Iā€™m 100% getting roof racks and towing and bumper stuff, and mid (at the least)...this list will probably be long. Iā€™d damn sure rather keep my purchase in Georgia; for the hassle of the Iowa drive avoided. But I just canā€™t avoid it if Iā€™m saving 2k or more when itā€™s said and done. Excited as hell about the whole thing though. Canā€™t wait for BNP
Thanks Yal
The plans look pretty much identical to me. I'll have to re-read through the threads again to confirm before switching dealers. Stephens is $1,000 below invoice with another $300 below invoice with X plan. Every option installed at the factory will be on the invoice, so $1,300 below whatever that total is.

If there is a difference between Granger and Stephens, Stephens is still 7-8 hrs closer and I'm not interested in having my vehicle shipped halfway across the country for any amount of money.

That is a clip of money saved and more power to you.

As far as I understand it, you have no choice but to wait until 2022 at this point ... that may go for dealerships as well.
Your probably correct and never get that much savings.

pardon my ignorance....but are you sure "invoice" is below "MSRP"??

So....how are they making their money on this??
  • We price out the Bronco showing you the invoice, listing our -$1000 discount from the invoice.
  • Document fees ā€“ of $250

MSRP - manufacturer suggested retail price... retail or Window Sticker. Would sell them all day for this profit structure.

Invoice - below window sticker...is not true cost if car ... this is what floorplan and banks use as cost.

Cost is 2-3% behind invoice that dealers use to defray he cost of floor planned (sitting in stock) inventory.

  • Thanks for that Albert. Was just about to reply but you are the expert on this. Your response was more detailed than my was going to be.

That sentiment is right on the spot. You could even argue that with shipping you may be saving $400 to $500 but you also donā€™t even step foot in the dealership. You could even look at it as being less hassle as everything will be done over the phone and through the computer. The money you save could help add a few extra goodies to the total package.

If you happen to have the ability to head up and drive it back you could do it over a weekend. Your savings would be even more. Might even get to see areas you have not seen.

I recall seeing someone mentioning renting a U-haul with a trailer as an option to bring it home. Good to see that people are sharing many options to help realize real savings. I see no need to give local dealers my savings. We all work too hard to just look past those savings.
The great thing is that whether you decide to buy out of state or locally, we will all be enjoying our great new Broncos! I look forward to see you all out there!
I love road trips so I would drive before doing a trailer. I might do a flight up there since flights from Atlanta are generally pretty fair and then drive it back the long way by zip zagging destinations on the way back.

I absolutely agree. Was looking for a good way to find great new sites to see on the way back down and found a website called Roadtrippers.com

It also has an app. You can select outdoor recreation or other interests and they will pop up on the map. It will route you on side roads to stop at the ones you select.

I found a good route from Granger that will bring be to Mammoth Caves. Then it will head over toward Pigeon Forge and come down through the national park. May stop at Tallulah Gorge as well.

Everyone traveling from Granger or Stephens or any other place to pick up their new Bronco should check it out.

I just knew that there had to be something better than google maps for finding alternate routes and great new places to visit.

Hope it works well for you. I will probably make several different routes and decide which one to take when it come close to the time to head up to Granger.
