Anyone paint the badlands grill gloss black?

Anyone painted theirs to match the wildtrak / first edition? Can you easily remove the letters before painting or just tape them? Any other suggestions? Assume any good gloss black paint will do.

Where in NY are you?

I'm trying to line up someone to swap with when my WT shows up. Since I'm getting Carb Gray, I would really like to have the Badlands Grill. Might you be interested in the Mirror Caps as well?

I did, but I had a shop do it. Not sure if they took the letters off or not, but I know they’re plastic welded on so in order to take them off you have to drill them off. Not sure about specific paint color either. Just told them I wanted it gloss black.

Thanks for that info about the letters. I am going to have my local shop paint mine. I thought the letters were held in by screws.

I think Im going to attempt it myself, should cost about $150 for materials
- sanding pads
- Premoter
- Black paint for grill
- Gold paint for letters
- clear coat
- plastic cement to get letters back on
- and a $20 sodering iron to melt the guide pins on the letters for extra measure to keep them on

I’m strongly considering Linex Ultra for my grill. I saw someone else do it and liked the look. Yea, they’d have to take the letters off, but I’m putting the Oracle lights on anyway.

Oh wow! Not used to Ford parts. Sad that they don’t give you an option to buy original parts just like the factory.
