This is very minor but every time it updates something changes. Previously if I was playing Music in CarPlay when I went back to vehicle it would connect and go back to music window. Now it goes to the general airplay view and God forbid I have to have an extra click. Pictures for explanation. Okay roast me now.

Mine has never defaulted to whatever I had up last. It has always defaulted to either the Home screen (Map, music, destinations, sometimes upcoming reminders) or the app screen like you show in your 2nd pic. I tend to leave it on the Home screen anyway, as it is the most useful anyway.

I noticed this too. Didn't always do it, just started recently.
My other car does it as well.

Once you get CarPlay loaded, everything else from that point is pretty much on Apple

Mine does this too. I thought it might have been because I use the radio at my desk and I left it playing when I went somewhere in my Bronco (and I only have the single player sub).

JFC the random issues I constantly have with carplay. lol. the list is long. I've literally turned my truck off... opened the door and restarted it at red lights before to fix non-syncing issues. ugh.

It’s buggy for sure. Thanks for confirming it’s not just me and at this point is as expected. Another thing is if I’m using Apple Music and then talk on the phone when the music comes back it skips..I have to disconnect and reconnect my phone

The bigger issue I have is that from time to time (not every time, maybe every 4-5 times?) Carplay will connect, but won't make sound. Have to attempt to switch to a different phone, then switch back, and everything works as expected.

This happens in the Bronco AND my wife's expedition, so I think it's a programming issue between Ford and Apple.

Happens to me as well. ALSO, sometimes it will only play out of one side set of speakers lol.
I think it's always the passenger side when it happens.

I'm at every 2-3 times this happens now, very annoying
