Will a single without tank run an air ratchet to take the doors and such off?

I'll talk you into a double! How 'bout that?

If you want to run air tools you'll need a tank, 1-2 gallon.

As far as single or double, the double is just two singles wired and mounted as one unit. So double the CFM and redundancy. The up side you only have to wait half as long between air tool bursts.

So you’re saying the suitcase version with tank is not sufficient for air tools? The tank isn’t very big.

To run a tool you need 90 psi and 5-ish CFM.

The ARB will build to 100 PSI, but you need a tank to do that. And the flow rate of the single is not high enough. So to make it work for a short time you need the tank, and would be better off with the double.

Entirely depends on the tool. Check its CFM needs.

The single is ~3CFM and the double is ~6CFM without a load.

Even with a 1-2 gallon tank, you're going to have to find low flow tools.

Paint sprayers, nail guns, small grinders etc are in the 2-5cfm range. You won't be running any big ugga dugga's for more than a smack or two without waiting for it to refill.

I have a 6.5CFM 30 gallon compressor in my shop and it struggles with some air tools, like sanders.

I have the double compressor mounted in my Bronco and have used the single compressor in the toolbox in the past.. both very quality.

I have the double-portable in the briefcase. Like @Theherofails says, depends on the tool requirements. You might can hit an impact for a short burst, maybe enough to just loosen but then you wait to refill. ARB says something to the effect of small or selected tools can run so check the cfm.

Oh, and by the way, highly recommend the double - 100% duty cycle is really nice.

No. Singles and Twins do not run air tools. You need to store that air somewhere and an air tank is going to be required.

You DO NOT need air tools to remove your door. In fact, you would never want to use an air tool to remove your door. Use the included ratchet in your glove box. That's the best tool for it.

Singles are 3x slower then Twin compressors.

A twin compressor will air up a 35" tire from 18PSI to 35PSI in 60 seconds. A single does that in 60 seconds.

Don't forget we have complete kits that bolt right under the hood with our patent pending bracket system (and if you use coupon code BRONCO6G you save 10% on the entire kit)

NOW, your comment further down referenced the portable kits. Those DO include an air tank, so you can run some smaller air tools but again, you would NEVER want to use an air tool to remove your doors.

We stock those portable kits:

Twin: https://www.4x4truckleds.com/arb-twin-high-performance-portable-compressor/

Single: https://www.4x4truckleds.com/arb-high-output-portable-air-compressor/

For the money, the twin is the way to go. MUCH faster.
