Good thing they have a reputation for finally delivering.

Taking big money up front and delivering months late is a big red flag for me. It indicates they have cash flow problems and/or poor business management which will result in not keeping up with their Ponzi scheme until they give up. Don’t expect to get your money back.

It's incredibly disingenuous to dismiss people's valid complaints about this company as "drama." Especially when the majority of your comments are only here to serve one purpose and that's stir the pot.
I for one am not dismissing others complaints, just passing on my experience which has been positive. It would be disrespectful to dismiss those who have had a good experience as well

No joining in on the lynch mob isn't a dismissal of complaints.

I'm sorry you're no open to another viewpoint. That's not a ME problem though.
It's a dismissal when you say some are 'cranking the drama to 11' when they've waited 3x longer than the ETA. And then, like me, had to fight for a refund.

Based on my experience with Archetype Racing, I will not purchase, nor moving forward do I recommend this business.

I was really excited and looking forward to receiving the stirrups and installing them on my Bronco. I really wanted to stick with this business and make a bunch of purchases from Curtis and the crew.

Originally, a lot of us that had orders were under the impression that it would be 12 to 16 weeks, that AR was getting caught up on orders from their “backlog” from the Fall/Winter of 2023.

My order is now 6 months out. I no longer received communication after inquiring about the order status several weeks ago. After not receiving any correspondence, I cancelled the order on July 2nd, 2024. I still haven’t heard anything back after submitting the request except for the automated generic reply from pit crew.

Then yesterday, I submitted another request regarding the status of my refund. The only change I noticed is the order status changed on the Archetype Racing Website: from ‘unfilled’ for the past six months, to now ‘restocked’.
I’m not sure as to why it is now restocked status since nothing ever materialized.

As of today, it is business day-7 since the request for a refund was submitted.
Still, nothing.

Nonsense. Posting entire private conversations, calling them frauds and all the other assorted things people have come up with is absolutely 'cranking the drama to 11'.

Post your gripe and move on. Getting it off your chest can be cathartic, but the ends that some people go to is just ridiculous.

I've had my fair share of complaints with various vendors, including AR, but FFS, some of this is childish.

I have an order that's beyond estimated delivery time, but I knew that was a possibility going into the transaction from the start. These threads can be useful so people can set expectations.

Because I'm not joining the crowd, that seems, well, dismissive.

I think the answer is obvious. No. Most of the threads from AR that started with advertising a product end up with complaints that the 6-8 weeks end up 6-8 months.

I’ve been doing this longer than many here have been alive. It’s not normal or acceptable even for a small machine shop. I love designing and machining precision parts and would like nothing more than to see others succeed doing it as well. If I was in the PNW, I’d be willing to stop by to offer some help to Curtis get around the issues. I tried asking before but was given the run around. Unfortunately, sometimes you need to be honest with what’s going on in order for others to help.

Orders that are eligible to be canceled by the customer, prior to shipment, will incur a 15% processing fee. This covers all cancellation processing costs (labor, website, credit card) for the order.

iirc mine was 20%, so i either misremembered or they are lowering the cancellation fee for items with unknown lead times

Ridiculous that they can be 4 times past the estimate and no part exists but still charge a "restocking" fee.

I waited (edit, lol) 3+ months for my AR Stirrups, and I won't say I was happy to wait that long, but I will say they were worth the wait. Every time I requested an update from AR via private messaging on this forum I got a reply in a decent amount of time.

There's no point in arguing about whether AR's customer service model is right or wrong, vote with your wallet.

Great products gain customers, great customer service keeps them as customers. That having been said, I'd still happily buy from AR again.

Same here. I've placed several orders over the last couple years and knew there would be a wait. And not the 18 month wait for my Bronco I might add, which is what conditioned me to have more patience now, LOL. The products are awesome, they stood behind their quality when needed - would definitely order from them again.

Did they charge you the restocking fee?
He didn’t charge me the restocking fee because I didn’t request the cancellation. He basically cancelled my order out of spite. I did receive my refund timely.

It is illegal to charge a “restock fee” for something that was never in stock.
