I hate waiting for 4-5 minutes for several traffic signal changes before I'm finally through a snarl. The only thing I hate worse is having my engine running the entire time, when my truck isn't going anywhere. So I know I'm in the minority but I like having the Auto Stop/Start. I'm getting over 23mpg in my Bronco and thrilled about that.

So My auto stop stopped working, took to dealer and the battery is at 55%, 810 CCA, everything else OK. The auto stop feature shuts down via the BMS if under 70%. They won't replace the battery, I only have 12000 miles on my 23 BB, 2.3. Purchased July 2023. They told me to hook it up to a trickle charge that I don't drive it enough. After research I completely understand how this works. My question on the trickle charge should I hook up Negative before or after the sensor. I am getting mixed responses when I search. It wouldn't make any sense to change batteries being the same would probably happen. Thanks for your input in advance.

After the sensor. Basically any good chassis ground other than the negative clamp.

Edit: I suppose before the sensor would be the correct way to word it technically.
Either way, just don’t put it between the sensor and battery.

Sensor has to “see” the charger current going in, if you think about the current flowing into the battery.
