I've already used AUX Switch 1 (30 amps). I want another 30 amp switch. The wire size for Switch 2 is the same as that for Switch 1 (1.5 mm). Anyone see an issue with replacing the 15 amp fuse with a 30 amp? Thanks.

I know that is an option. Just hoping for a slightly cleaner install.

There’s more to the amp rating than just wire size. Fairly safe to say the answer is no.

That's what I wanted to know. Please elaborate. I'm seeking knowledge. Thanks.

So the relays for the aux switches are in a solid junction box unit under the hood. If one of those blows you'll need to replace the entire relay junction box as it is non-servicable. I know because I had a bad aux6, who's relay was shot and a new junction box was installed. I do not know if the relays are sized the same or different, the diagrams I've seen only show the input side amperage not the relay's abilities. That is the caution point here.

Yeah you need to know what the gauge of the wire is and what the relay is rated for. If you swap out the fuse for a 30 amp but the relay is only rated for 15 amps, you're going to have a crispy relay on your hands. The relay itself is in the battery junction box, and according to the service manual it is not serviceable.

Which probably means you're going to have to go with @Silver-Bolt's approach of triggering a higher-amperage relay with a relay.

No you cant. I learned years ago. I changed out fuse and then wire was smoking/melting under my dash instead of fuse blowing.

Thanks all for responding and helping me understand. I will not be be upsizing the fuse. I'll go the relay route. Thanks again.
