Hi...I ordered a 2024 BB and have seen that aux switches are optional for $195. I'm hoping to get into some off roading. Nothing too crazy. What are these used for and given my interest in light off roading should I add

Just get them because they look way cooler than a flip down sunglasses holder. The clip will break anyways.

Tons of Bronco sunglasses holders on Amazon for less than $20.
I had to add switches aftermarket and it was over $1k. $195 is a steal and you won’t regret it. $195 modifications are cheap in general. This will give you more options later. Even if you don’t off-road, you have more options to wire up things like lights. I use an aux switch for my internal lights. Get ‘em.

The aux switches are used to add a ton of lights to the bronco that you will never use ,they will rust or get stolen and the are annoying on a dusty trail at night.
Get them if you want to add a special horn.

so its either the switches or the sunglass holder?
Yes and while that is a little sad, if I can handle no sunglasses holder here in Florida, you'll be fine. YOU WANT the aux switches, they are a great option for $195

Careful there.... these are famous last words. I have repeatedly told my other half that all I need are wheels/tires and im good. Every car, truck, bike, off road rig.

I also said when buying my first off road rig:
I just want something to hit some service roads with the kids, nothing wild, just some smooth dirt roads to get off the pavement.

If you don't find the right people, you may not get too far, but if you happen to find the right set of people that help you without scaring the bejesus out of you, well..... All I can say is "Welcome to your new addiction!!".

And to answer your other question, yes they are worth it. But, there are also other better options out there depending on your need/usage.

Even if you only install one extra set of lights they are absolutely worth the money. If you do the install yourself they will save you from having to run wires and you won't have to mutilate your dash to mount a switch. If you have someone else install your lights it will probably save you close to the $195 in reduced labor cost since they won't have to do the wiring from scratch. It's worth every penny either way.
THIS! I am likely to only use one switch to add foglights to the mod bumper. If I had to wire it myself, I would have to pay someone to do it as I don't have the skill or time. Just adding foglights to the bumper and connecting them to the pre-installed wires is just my speed.
