I feel like 90% of us opting for the Badlands are checking off the sasquatch box before any other option lol. I do like the Badsquatch term. It doesn't really work with any other trim.
I disagree. ?

Not judging your logic, but just stating an observation. On the JL, Wranglers aren’t meant to go fast at all. The SFA, very boxy non-aerodynamic shape, gearing, etc make it purpose built to be a crawler. It’s a true brick, which is just fine for traversing trails.

Bronco is built as more of a desert runner. Sure, Badlands is a trail runner and somewhat of a rock crawler, as far as capabilities, but it’s also going to cut better through wind, just a tad.

Although I’m going with the 2.7 and auto for off road driving (can’t stand a manual when crawling - too much work for me and distracts from my wheel placement), I don’t really plan to run fast. Getting the bigger engine for easier driving under load when heading out to camp or overland West or on ski Trips.

Your wife may enjoy the auto unless you know she’s into the manuals also. if so, damn you got lucky with her friend! :)
So that is what I've started to understand better. Most of those folks regear to 4.88-5.13 ranges to recapture a lot of the speed lost due to the bigger tires.

I have 35s on my 2011 F150 with 3.73s. I never regeared and lost MPGs, but she still flys! Keeping the 4.7 should keep these rocking the baja style speeds with 37s. I would't go larger....and 35 would be as small as I go.

Wonder what the difference in pricing is between a 333A and a 334A Badlands. The 334A looks like the lux package version?

Edit: answered my own question 332 = mid, 333= high, 334 = lux...

So glad i got an early reservation for badlands. Im a stickler for a clean vehicle. Its going to be 2 door badlands squatch pkg. Sounds crazy, but if im going black im not going with standard black top but color option black top(same finish as body).. . on 2 door rubicons it looks so clean when its polished. Or I could go silver and black and have the body silver with the black fenders and black top to break everything up.
I am also leaning towards sliver with black top, fenders, grill on a 2dr. I think it shows off the lines better than all black,

Seems odd that according to that allowed/prohibited data dump, if you choose a Badlands (no matter what option pkg) you have only two choices for interior

1. marine grade vinyl (no color description, assuming that whitish gray pictured everywhere)
2. leather (unnamed but excludes all two-tone choices elsewhere, so must be basic black).

Really strange pair of choices since you cannot pick the "space gray" marine vinyl which from deciphering photos looks to be a very dark, near black mix of shades. But you cannot pick it. Then if you want leather you only get the (unnamed) choice which almost certainly is charcoal or black. Talk about a contradiction. You cannot have the dark marine vinyl and you cannot pick a lighter or two-tone leather. I just dont understand how some of these selections (or lack thereof) were made.

Yep, First on the Badlands. I have a Rubicon now, this suppose to be the Rubicon fighter.
I was hoping there would be a solid front axle, since it's supposed to be the "extreme off road" version and be the direct competitor to the Rubicon.

I understand the logic - but this was known I think as far back as 2019 / early 2020 at the latest.

The cool thing is it makes a real choice between Bronco and Wrangler.

If you must have a solid front axle - since your vehicle is going to be climbing rocks 70% of the time - I get choosing the Wrangler.

If you drive to the mountains (as opposed to getting trailered) and climb rocks under 50% of the time, the IFS is the superior choice.

Personally, if I was hugely into rock-climbing (in Florida, its a planned trip not something I can do on a weekend), I'd get an old Jeep and dedicate it to that. But that's me.

My Bronco is going to be driving down mostly dirt roads, taking the wife and I to work, mudding and bouncing around the Ocala forest most of the year - and we'll try and plan some rock climbing in the Appalachians and west Texas on the summers when we are off.

I jumped the gun and reserved an OB but then saw it didn’t offer a manual so I made another for the Badlands. Hoping I can use my lower reservation number for the Badlands!

The manual was the kicker for me and the simple additions for off-road make it a no-brainer.

I’m sticking with the AT’s for tires because it still needs to have some decent street manners and not wear them out on short fashion.

Depending on upgrade cost, may go up to the high package.

That 360 degree camera in the high package sounds sweet.

I wonder how much it costs to get it added on from the dealer OR some other place (if I go med instead).

Agree, and wonder if we can figure the part number out for the wireless charging pad and put that on later w/o the Lux package too.

He said the you can’t get disconnect with Sasquatch.
I said that’s incorrect.
The badlands with disconnect is available with Sasquatch package in the 2.3 or 2.7 power plants.
The badlands with disconnect and 7sp is not available currently with Sasquatch.
What I understood was you couldn’t get the 35’s with the disconnect but can’t remember where I heard or read that from. So my question is what do you get with the badlands Sasquatch package assuming you can’t get the 35’s and the badlands comes with most of the other stuff in the Sasquatch package already. I’d also assume the prices wouldn’t be a set price across the board considering you get more in the package with the base than you would on the badlands. Hopefully that clarifies my initial question.

I’m saying they are wrong.

Badlands is available with Sasquatch and 35’s. You can get 35’s and sway disconnect.

@MVP, @Dads_bronze_bronco, @Spooled, I want to thank each of you for your information and input. It always nice to hear different thoughts and your perspectives are valuable.

I completely agree with the sentiment "..that you buy it right the first time." For me, this means getting the front and rear lockers is paramount. I think my purchase will depend on how Ford configures the options sheet. Today, I basically have two choices:
  • option one is to purchase a BD with the Sasquatch package and the automatic
  • option two is to purchase a Badlands with either the manual or automatic
My ideal situation would be to have the manual transmission, but I can see benefit to the automatic as this is also my daily driver. Obviously, Ford has currently decided not to offer the manual transmission in combination with the Sasquatch package. My hope is they will decide differently before I have to officially order my Bronco.

I think it ultimately going to come down to total cost versus the value in the differential of the cost of the two options. I'm not sure I could justify spending 3K-4K more for a Badlands regardless of the transmission if I can get everything I want in the BD with the Sasquatch. However, if the differential is only 1K or 2K then I think the Badlands is a no brainer.

Anyway, thank you for commenting...the advice is truly appreciated.
