quick question, what battery tender are people using and which bolt is the negative bolt you are hooking it up to?

I just picked up my raptor and its hard to figure out in the instructions the hook up points.

thanks!

For an individual vehicle, don't get any cheap tender. I use Deltran and don't trust any other reasonably priced consumer tender.

I'm happy with the Noco units I use.

I've been using CTek for many years without issue.

I'd also be interested in what negative bolt people are using for a permanent tender pigtail hook-up.

I have a Ctek tender and it doesn't seem to be working on it. any pictures of the negative mounting spot would be great.

The best I can suggest is a chicken tender. Ha!

I use NOCO, but their battery booster I keep in my Bronco. It's better new (couple of months, maybe?) and I've used it once or twice to help others - Works amazing, easy to use, and good quality. They're also a well-known brand, so I assume their battery tenders would be just as good.

That's interesting. Do you have it set to AGM mode?

I've got it to work with the clips connecting it to the negative terminal after the BMS.

I may have an older CTEK, it doesn't have an AGM mode..and it doesn't do lithium batteries.

it works on my defender but may need a new model.

I have a MXS 5.0 and an older MUS 4.3, both seem to work ok with the clips. I only have a permanent pigtail on my Mustang since it sits for most of the winter.

I use the deltran battery tender jr. Use them for cycles so I already have them. OG back in the day

Pos+ to one of the pos battery threaded posts on the battery
Neg- to the tang on the far end of the battery minder (which hangs off the negative battery post)

Deltran is the only battery tender I recommend. I use it on all my vehicles, show cars, tractors, motorcycles. Your ride is always ready to go and it will lengthen battery life. I connect mine directly to the - and + posts and have had zero issues. Get an extension and you can have the lead come out the grill. Unplug it and you are on the road! This one is the one that Deltran and I recommend:

There are posts concerning where to attach the neg clamp. IIRC, you have to attach to the terminal away from the battery post. This way the vehicle system can monitor current going in/out of the battery.
I'll update if I find the info, or maybe someone else can verify.

I use some Deltran Battery Tenders as well. Also use a NOCO for higher charge rates.
